Ok, I now officially find the whole excuse of "the players didn't know it was wrong!" to be absolute sh*t!

Even the most moronic borderline geniused f**khole can see a problem here, there is no way you could not know that all these kickbacks were outside the allowable grounds for the declared amount in the official contract.
Maybe he should have used it to make a break for international waters.

The sad part is that this is probably just the tip of the iceberg, Cameron Smith seems to be getting very nervous each time he is in front of a camera these days, like he is about to throw up, it is either the pressure of this entire sordid affair or he has something major to hide, here's hoping that it is not the latter.

If anything, I think the ATO just cracked a boner.

Getting paid $100,000 for 2 appearances on NRL on Fox totalling less than 20 minutes would raise suspicion you would think. Than again it was Fox so as they own the Storm it could quite possibly happen

As I said from the cheap seats it raises an eyebrow. However I also said it is possible it was just a sweet deal from the owners of the club.

Ulysseus we know you think the storm players are guilty because you've stated that on approximately 75 threads. If you have proof the storm players were involved in the scam then take that proof to the nrl or share it with us. If you have no idea if or how any player was involved then change the record, its getting pretty repetetive mate

Of course the players all thought it was included in the cap, even the 2nd contract for $200k, and the additional payments while at sponsors marquees. They had no idea at all that the cap was being rorted.:roll::roll:

Its in black and white arse clown.
As for pointing the finger at Smith, why the f**k not?
If there is one thing that has been proven its that you can't take most people associated with this club at face value (Statutory Declaration anyone?).

Then again I am sure its just an honest mistake, everyone occasionally makes an error of judgment relating to their terms of employment by signing two contracts that are markedly different........................... oops, hang on...no they don't............

One thing though, and this has interested me since the 'duplicate' contracts issue was first raised, in all the experiences I have had with contracts, given that the 'duplicates' were extensively different, there should be 4 copies (at least), one of the "official" contract shown to the NRL at Storm HQ, one with Inglis, one of the "un official" contracts indicating his true worth at Storm Hq, one with Inglis.
I am unsure whether, being that this is an elite compeition paying far and above award wages for what is essentially a game, if the relevant workplace authority has copies of which set of contracts?, if any.
I wonder if these players held onto their copies of the deal breaker, chose not to receive one for fear of reprisal or desperately shredded it the other day?

So all other fans know sweet f**k all, but yet you know different, of course silly me.

Your club systematically cheated & you and other Melbourne fans enjoyed the dishonest achievements, so you're gona have to pt up with it.

Good with the bad, thick and thin, etc you know the rest............

But what about the 2nd contracts, and which player wrote back and specifically asked for the extra payments to be included in the cap. How did he know something was up ?

Surely even the most ardent and staunch Storm fan can see this smells, even from 1800km away

Well the plethora of links around this forum should really be proof enough. :?
I think all we need to do now is sit back and wait for a confession that surely can't be too far away.

Your a deadset joke. The investigators have said there is no reason to think the players are involved or knew anything. They were all decieved.
Until something comes out that proves me wrong, stfu you f**kin grub

I for one am looking forward to the ATO & Police investigating. Imagine my surprise that the Storm players are objecting to have their personal finances looked through.

If they have nothing to hide open everything up to clear your name lads.

No f**knut, he seeked reassurance!! Asking Waldron to reassure him its in the cap, what did Wally do? He replied stating everything was included in the cap.

If the players really want to clear their names they may need to look towards legal action against those who they claim have deceived and commited acts of fraud against them

and he believed Waldron?
Without question, individual thought, research, consulting the RLPA etc?

f**k, if they all did that then that might explain some of the mess, "everyone just took Wally's word that she was all sweet".

Mind you, applying some simply maths here would have spat out the does not compute sign.
well over 5,000,000 does not divide in 4,100,000 etc.

Who is that these days?
Is it Waldron or some other parties.

Does anyone know what role the players managers have played in all of this yet?
Maybe I haven't been paying attention to that bit, but are they the one port of call that appears to be (amazingly) blameless?

I am not entirely sure who it is.

A player going after a player manager would be an interesting precedent case though

Damn right.
That would probably be one of the messiest bits.

Do the NRL still de-register player managers for certain things?

Although to be fair I don't think anyone has even heard a murmur of a mention as far as names of a player manager involved.
The same cannot be said for individual players, however.
