the funny thing about all this is that I've not heard a player who disagrees with Hayne..

apparently Benji feels the same so no doubt you'd be happy to see him go then??

But has Benji threatened to quit the NRL? As far as I'm concerned no, if he did I'd be upset obviously. I like Benji and lot more than Hayne. There's no doubt Hayne's a talent, but he's also got an ego to match it. It in no way, shape or form can be denied.

well that's the sort of answer I'd expect from a hypocrite.

Would you have the same problem if I said the exact same thing about Inglis? No you wouldn't, so, I fail too see how I'm the hypocrite in this instance.

yes I would...

I've not heard a rugby league player that disagrees with what Hayne, Cam Smith and Locky thinks but as long as they don't play for the Tigers than he should piss from the game hey??

Seems Hayne has developed an ego big enough to match his over-sized melon. I'm all for paying the players more for rep matches but the way and manner they're ALL going about it reaks of whinging and bitching. If they keep this up fans everywhere will turn on the elite players. Not good.

Supply and demand mate.

I don't begrudge the top players getting everything they can from the game (but I love the ones who settle for less out of loyalty).

If Hayne and the other superstars aren't happy with how much they can earn in the NRL they should leave - I've got no problem with them doing the best for themselves.

But like a few people have already said, the game won't miss them. Australian rugby league will keep producing new talent. The supply is endless.

Ahh, but I wouldn't say the same thing about Inglis hey.

more proof that you're a hypocrite, it proves that your arguement is based on a personal agenda against Hayne and not his opinion on player payments.

didn't Benji have a whinge about not being able to play rugby in Japan in the off season? was that ok was it?

Look...I don't actually disagree with Hayne that rep players should be getting paid more for those games. I've even suggested it as a solution for increasing the top players salaries without putting added pressure on the clubs.

But is that even the topic? Aren't we talking about this wanker whinging about how much he is earning? Does he even appreciate what the average league fan on their average income is thinking when they are reading or hearing this?

Seriously...he is playing a game that isn't trying to buy their way in to new region...or doesn't develop enough of their own players and has to loom outside of their own competition. He could have gone down the AFL route, get paid very good money for 3 years and been an absolute dud and come crawling back to the NRL. He could have gone to Union, sat out on the wing for 3 or 4 years and done nothing and come crawling back.

He choose to stay in the game that has made him and is paid very well to be here. Stop whinging about money when you are paid around 11 times more than the average wage - the same wage that the average league fan shells out to support him and the rest of the league.

considering he does a great deal for charity (as does a number of NRL players) I would say that he's still got both feet planted on the ground, the story is off a tabloid nature and specifically designed for dipsticks like Tigers are poo to vent their spleen.

Very good point.

For the vast majority of us, our opinions about most things aren't formed from facts, but from semi-fictional melodramatic 'infotainment' media.

Doesn't matter whether it was reported in the Telegraph or the Herald really - if he said it, then he needs to pull his head in and appreciate what he has.

well the arguement isn't about what he said it's the way the story was written and the way the chief editor titles it..Hayne threatens to quit NRL!..as a knights supporter, I thought you would of known that given the amount of times you had to read an article about Joey possibly switching codes.

To be fair we usually got that in his last year under contract, not his 5th last year.

ok, so that being the case, wouldn't you think that given that he's 3 years away (not 5) until his next renewl that he's genuinely concerned about the state of the game and the ability to keep their elite players?
