Risky Stuart as head coach??

We wouldn't be a top four side without a halfback... but bellamy or bennett would GUARANTEE we got the pick of the crop!

Agree either he would have got the best out of our halfback or he would have found one to do the job.

Personally id love nothing more than to see Laurie Daley coach the Raiders, his a smart man... and he has respect in the rugby league world..anyway.. lets see wot goes down Carn the Raiders..

Most rugby league fans I correspond with believe Laurie Daley should be sacked from his position with Fox Sports because he is an embarassment to Fox Sports and the game in general.

Laurie has no credentials as a coach at the top level and frankly nor will he ever.

The Raiders suffer from the same issues as the likes of my side the Panthers. They struggle to attract the true 'marque' players to there club and that is no fault of the coaching staff, it is just a reality of the environment of residing in Canberra or Penrith. The fact is it doesn't hold the same attractions as other clubs who are closer to the action so to speak.

Stuart is utter rubbish. You should be chasing Kearney with everything you have. Not only does he have experience under some of the best coaches in the NRL (years under Bellamy, working with Bennett coaching NZ) he would probably bring a few Melbourne players across as well.

Or chase Graham Murray. He's the only coach the Cowboys have made the finals under, and in 2004 he did that with Myles and Sheppard as the halves....in 2005 and 2007 it was Thurston and a useless nuffy called Justin Smith.

Last I heard he was coaching the women's Australian rugby league team.

he came in 07.

we were sh*t 06, strengthened the team. 08 we won 17 games. schooled yall in the finals if i recall.

then it all went to porridge because of greg bird. and they changed the rules so we couldnt cheat.

Stuart's ego and resistance to change combined with our lack of overall talent are giving you the sharks of 09/10.

recruitment was also seen to be a failure. but i reckon we woudl be just as bad with kimmorley

I still believe David furner is wrong to coach our side because of his lack of experience. Compared to Laurie Daley who actually has worked along side some great people, who was one of the Raiders best players of all time, who is the NSW BLUES selector! who is the country origin coach and possible future Blues coach... i think his respect in the rugby league world would be a little higher than Furners and thus why i would be happy for him to come and coach us, yea it'd be a risk.. but certainly a better invsetment than in Furner.

It appears us poor raiders fans are doomed to mediocracy for a while yet.

What do you guys think about Ricky Stuart as our coach? i mean he won a premiership with the roosters, had a few sh*tty years with a horrible Cronulla team.. maybe he'd be a great person to come back to our club? surely he could do better than Furner!... any takers?

Stuart has that roosters side after Gould who took the wraps as G Murrey was the one who put that team together and made them good.
Stuart hasnt proved a thing at the sharks and anyone can coach NSW and Australia as well.

Fair enough though, however i guess it is a sign of jsut how desperate i am to see Furner leave, he offers nothing.. he seems to only detract from the synergy this great team can create.

I always thought that Daniel Anderson would be the perfect coach for canberra. This guy just knows how to attack teams. With the crop of high grade juniors canberra has up their sleeves. Furner is just a soldier he's no optimus prime

ricky stuart walked into the roosters when they had a gun side. that side would have won a premiership even with a potato as a head coach.

had r.stuart been a good coach, they would have won more than just the one premiership..

he also took the reins of an aussie team that could win a game of football blindfolded..

when given a challenge at cronulla to actually coach... well...

I'd take stuart in a heartbeat over furner. There's actually not many coaches I would turn down in favour of furner.

id swap Hagan for Furner... id swap any ex nrl coach for furner..id even take Warren Smith from the fox sports commentary box.. im guessing his a smarter bloke than Furner..would get some pretty interesting post game comments im guessing as well..

If the Raiders finish bottom 3 with the squad that we have... Furner MUSTTTT be sacked... it'd be a given!!!! i just dont think i could handle another season with this Bannana as the leader of the once mighty Raiders..
