losing one of our most experienced props, one of our best props, our 9, 13, and our Fullback/utility in Hunt, i think keeping a well established 6 7 combination is as important as ever.

On top of that, Lockyer may be a yard slower than he used to be, but he has been in top form the last few weeks and is a big game player. Havn't really seen S.Prince step up to the plate in the real big games.

I think Lockyer would definitely want to retire sooner rather than later though, he is on the decline and to stay too long would be a shame for what he's brought to the game.
I'm happy with him there this year, he is needed as Smith is injured so more than ever he's needed.

Prince is a good player but Cronk and Thurston are superior...they're better it's just life.

I agree, but only one can play half back and that (obviously) would be Thurston.
I'm not so sure Cronk is a better 2nd receiver than Prince...

I am a massive Cooper Cronk fan but when it comes to individual brilliance Prince has it over Coops at the moment I reckon. Cooper is still developing his game and will continue to improve, the fact that QLD has the choice of the two once Lockyer retires from Rep footy makes life that little bit harder for NSW over the next 4-5 years.

Totally agree. I was a little disappointed when Lockyer announced he was playing ... I thought he'd had his time.

But without those players - Price, Hodges, Smith and Johnson - we need his cool head and experience more than ever. Very glad he's there.:D

Personally I think Lockyer's decision to play on this year was a very selfish error in judgement. He's nowhere near as good as he used to be, and he has been a passenger for the last two Origin series. He's there because he's the captain and because of his reputation, definitely not on form.

The sad thing about Prince is that he'll only be around for another few years, and Cronk is being groomed as Lockyer's successor.

Cronk is a good player, but he is NOT a clutch player - he's always had a great team around him. I've seen him play two games with Cameron Smith there - the 40-0 grand final loss to Manly and two weeks ago when the Storm were smashed by the weakest Broncos lineup I've seen in the past 5-10 years.

6. Thurston
7. Prince

14. Cronk

That is a FAR better lineup IMO, and Prince has waited long enough.
You're a spastic.

Prince should get his chance next season when Locky has retired, I think the Qld selectors will go with him over Cronk when it comes to an actual starting berth.

Having the four best halves in the game fighting over two berths is a fairly good problem for Qld selectors to have.
