Yes he carried the batting well so far this series hasn't he? idiot.

Blaming Ponting is a bit lazy. Ponting didn't get out 10 times.

Australia's batting has been getting worse and worse for the last few years. It's time for Ponting and the selectors to have genuine openers at the top of the order and to give Cameron White a gig. He's done absolutely everything to prove he deserves a go in the test side. He's also a fairly capable batsmen. Have him and Watson at 5 and 6.

North - f**k off
Hussey - should have been f**ked off 2 years ago

because since Edgbastion in 2005 captain Clueless has been terrified to send anyone in no matter what the conditions........

and on this test, as much as opting to bat was stupid, the shot selection which saw each wicket fell was even more ludicrous. Playing across the line of balls which are swinging late. Dumb.

I've been saying it for a while now, but the advent of 20Twenty cricket, and trying to make the game fast will/and has had a negative affect on test cricket.

Every single wicket today could have been prevented if the batsmen played more defensively. Looking to score runs off every ball is f**king ridiculous.

Furthermore, lets not take anything away from Pakistans bowling attack. That was one of the best exhibitions of bowling we've seen from Pakistan since the early 90's. It is bloody good to see. They were all over the Aussies.

Sure the Paki bowlers bowled well, sure our batsman played some poor shots. But honestly why would you be out there in the first place??? We had them under pressure after the first test, another new captain who would have been under a heap of pressure why not send them in and get him to face the music???

No instead we play to their strengths and let them get their confidence up, Butt came out to bat without a care in the world and attacked us and put us under the pump. Look we may somehow get of this like Sydney but it still won't make the decision to bat first right. It's funny whenever we have a bad day after play the captain is nowhere to be seen it's always Hussey and Hagan the II to answer the questions.........

The batting is far more to blame than Ponting. Pakistan have made batting look relatively easy.

Blaming Ponting is the easy way out for a terrible batting display....and allows you guys to think you're still a bit better than you are. Ashes should be good value.

You are geniused if you genuinely believe Pakistan's bowling attack is better than Australia's.

Speaking of believing Australia is better than they are... Gidley, you are delusional if you think it's not close at best, or Pakistan have an edge

Pakistan's attack is (probably with RSA) potentially the best in the world... Australia's is decent, nothing more... Asif is brilliant, Aamer is the best young fast bowler in the world, and Gul is a very honest third pace bowler...

They were smart and tight with their line and length. Kept it up, knowing full well the Aussie batsmen would try and turn the ball down the leg side even though the line is middle swinging to off.

How many times have we seen recently where Aussie batsmen have got out to a full pitched ball because they were trying to turn it instead of playing through the line and driving it down the ground.

Completely stupid and elementary mistakes made by players who should know a dar sight better. Johnston, Hussey and Clarkes dismissals were just f**king hopeless. Ponting is out of form. When he starts doing those stupidly large lunges forward to pad the ball and not offering any shots is a sign his form is sh*t.

Given he's got out padding at balls a few times now you would think/hope that he'd realise it'd be better if he offers a shot and gets some bat behind the ball.

Our bowlers came on and bowled short and wide, not threatening anything at all. They are also too inconsistent. Erratic bowling is impossible to set a field to, and it's also impossible to mount any real pressure.

It doesn't need to be fast as all f**k, just put the ball in the one spot, over and over again. Set a field to it and wait for the batsmen to get himself out. Again, it's simple and f**king elementary, but they are just not doing it.

You get the impression watching them play that they believe they just have to turn up with their whites on and they'll win.

It's about time they started to respect the Pakistan bowling attack, because from what I saw, Pakistan's attack sh*ts all over Australia's.

And with our batsmen all out of sorts, then this game is there for the taking for Pakistan. Australia don't deserve to win.

agreed, and then when you throw in Kaniera it's a world class attack. Their main weakness has always been the catching.

I could not agree more, T20 must die, or we just should not be having current international test players playing it at a competitive level

Potentially the best in the world? Are you just naive or really that stupid? They have one bowler averaging under 33. You only need to look at Australia's second innings in the first test to see what happens when they don't have very favourable bowling conditions.
