I would be guessing that he would be on about $100k and it's a bit hard to train when you're injured.

Thats right you would be guessing ! Attempting big hits often does result in injury , but then again you have to try and pull them off so you are remembered as a good player to keep gettin da cabbage bro !

not real sure what is happening with Daine.I thought he was on the right track after finaly getting back to first grade. But has been no where to be seen in any sides for 2 weeks. Not appearing on the injured list either.
He is going to have to start making a mark as his money could go towards keeping our front line boys

Look in the Law Enforcement section of your local Penrith rag over the next few days and all should become clear

Put him in... I thought he proved to be good impact off the bench... We have enough players who can play the full 80 to cover for his short stints.

UNTRUE, I know why he did not play and had nothing to do with this crap or injury, it was due to family reasons.

Yep, returned in NSW Cup on Saturday.

Nothing too brilliant, but he looks to have a better grasp on his positioning in defence which was one of his biggest problems at the Tigers.

For him to crack our first grade side I'd want him to be having some pretty impressive games in the lower grades.

The guys you'd be looking him to replace (Cooper or McKendry) have been great for us this year. Cooper especially gets through a mountain of work and plays a ton of minutes. I'm not expecting either of those things from Laurie.

McKendry has been pretty consistent which isn't something you can say about Laurie and aside the game against Auckland has gone pretty well.

With Grant coming back soon enough I give him no shot of cracking our first grade side. He isn't anywhere near Bell's level of play.

Yeah he didn't look fit prob 80% if that he made tackles and moved ok just ran it up softly. Maybe ME wanted him to have a run before this week although he scored a reasonable try

As for who to replace Cooper, Bell, McKendry no impact there either drop possibly Bell or play him as the 4th interchange the problem is our bench come on we struggle we need impact he provides that. We have plenty of workhorses need the 20-30mins of something different

There's no way I would drop Cooper or Bell. Both have been great and even if not fully firing are still solid and not a liability. McKendry I would consider dropping as an option to freshen him up, but really I would rather drop our utility and have this team:

1. Lachan Coote
2. Michael Gordon
3. Michael Jennings
4. Brad Tighe
5. Sandor Earl / David Simmons / Ryan Walker / Anyone that isn't Adrian Purtell
6. Travis Burns
7. Luke Walsh
8. Tim Grant (Frank Puletua until he is fit)
9. Kevin Kingston
10. Petero Civoniceva
11. Frank Pritchard
12. Trent Waterhouse
13. Luke Lewis (c)

14. Gavin Cooper
15. Daine Laurie
16. Matt Bell
17. Sam McKendry

If Waterhouse doesn't improve, I would even consider giving him a few weeks at Windsor and keeping Nathan Smith. Waterhouse had a few massive games after being dropped from Origin, and has since died off and been somewhere between average and awful.

-Wade Graham - He's leaving us and we might aswell work on the Burns/Walsh combination. It was working well earlier in the season. Especially with Lewis at lock helping out.

-Masada Iosefa - He's a player with heaps of potential... but I think we would be better off having an all forward bench and just having our backs help out at dummy half to remove pressure from Kingston.

-Adrian Purtell - He's the worst player at the club IMO. Absolutely terrible in defence and it's actually safer for him to go for the intercept where he has a chance at catching the ball, rather then going for the tackle where he's almost guaranteed to miss it.

Ditto. You hit the nail on the head with that team and supporting comments.

You want to strip Petero of the captaincy? I know he gave away a penalty last week but seems a bit extreme to me, and would be seen by the opposition as a sign of panic.

I agree 100% with that team.

I would have Earl in the 5. He was our leading metres gain against Dragons and scored are Great Hat-trick on the weekend. Walker played good also but is just back from a ankle injury and doesn't quite seem 100%

Just curious, why do people keep saying "work on that combination". We should be worried about this year and going for it this year.

Yeah Graham is leaving and most likely Tighe too. But if they give us the best chance to win this year, they should be in the side.

We're coming second right now. Worry about next year, next year.

It's a catch 22 situation IMO Graham has had 3 poor games in arow. So form wise must be close to being dropped but if we drop him it could be seen as harsh on the player and wreck team harmony.

It seems like his mind is elsewhere ATM (not the 1st time a departing player has lost interest) for that reason I would drop him that goes for anyone whether they are going or not.

I want finals and ideally finals so play the best FORM players

I thought Graham went well against the Dragons. He wasn't too bad against the Warriors.

I don't think he Walsh or Burns was good against the Eels. I didn't see the Melbourne game so I can't comment on that.

I haven't seen a game from Burns of late either where he's put his hand up. Even Walsh has been a bit off the boil.

We just need to go with our best options, whatever they may be and stick with them. Switching guys in and out is never good for form.

:lol::lol::lol:

It's funny because it's true. Thanks for taking him off our hands.
