I hope that's true. Whatever decision he does make I just don't want it to be drawn out over months and months, Inglis style.

Can you stop? Don't speak about him like as if you know him. At least I'm talking in hypotheticals, you speak like you're the blokes best friend.

He's lived in Sydney the last 2 years and it doesn't seem to have hurt his privacy...

Wrong.
He lives outside of the 'Gong.

Ok fair enough, he lives in Wollongong. But people going on about his privacy, I don't see how there is all this privacy everywhere but Sydney.

Even if he lived in Sydney, I don't see Bennett getting himself into some kind of nightclub scandal...

I've heard a few people say this. When the time comes and Crowe meets Bennett to try and get him to Souths do you really think the conversation will go something like:
Bennett: "mate I'd love to come and coach Souths to their 22nd premiership, .....
You twat Buby. If Souffs win the comp with John Lang, why would they punt him for anyone? Why would they want Bennett?

And if John Lang DID win the comp at Souffs, the other teams would say "F*ck Bennett, we want SUPER COACH LANG" Lang winning at Souffs in 2011 would be a bigger achievement than Bennetts, or maybe even Jack Gibsons!

A Club Update - Wayne Bennett
6/02/2011 5:00:55 PM
St George Illawarra Dragons CEO Peter Doust wishes to update all Red V members, supporters and corporate partners on the Club’s current contract discussions with Head Coach Wayne Bennett.

“We are obviously very keen for Wayne to stay at the Club and are presently in discussion with him about extending his contract,” said Doust.

“Wayne has not advised us that he will be leaving at the end of this season, but has advised that he is undecided about his coaching future beyond the 2011 season.

“Any further updates on these discussions will be provided in due course.”

Get it through your thick head. We're not punting Lang. When he signed the contract he said that was it no matter what he was retiring after this contract. He was never the long term option, all parties understood that and agreed to that.

That's why we've been in the rumours for Bennett...and Bellamy...and Sheens. Unlike a bunch of other clubs we're not in the "well we'll see if he's sh*t this year and then sack him after a month, like the Broncos and Cowboys" mode.

We're looking for a coach because premiership or wooden spoon, there will be a vacancy after this season.

Elliott is a great fit for Souths. Great at a press conference, not so good at football. They are made for each other. Can't wait to see Purts in a Souths jersey. Inglis will probably be a bit miffed when the turtle takes his spot. More time for boating & eating fried pigs heads.

Nathan Brown to Souths?

Great call... Tallis, Choc and Brownie go WAY back... Crowe would save himself a tonne of cash by going for Brown who to be fair, is a good young first grade coach... (wrong time to give him the reins of Saints when they did) but he has served his time elsewhere and would be a good fit for Souths... and Brown slapping Sandow would just be the icing on the cake...

As would I. Souths will do much better than Elliott.

Mark my words, we're getting Bennett, Bellamy or Sheens. Crowe is keen on all 3, he'll get one of them.

Bellyache will re-sign with Melbourne. After what happened last year he will stick around to help us rebuild.

So now it is one of Bellamy, Sheens or Bennett? Only a few days ago you were talking Bennett to Souffs as a done deal, we heard it here first from you (even though we've been hearing it for months everywhere else) and all that crap why the sudden change to taking a stab at three coaches who probably won't have a job at the end of the year?

Guess Sheens might be tempted by the cash given the Tigers fans seem to want to ditch him.

When have the Bronco's ever fired a head coach? Souths on the other hand...

That's probably the most likely scenario. But it wasn't that long ago that Broncos fans would have laughed at the possibility of Bennett coaching anywhere else. If he could leave them Bellamy can leave the Storm.

Recent history tells us if Crowe gets someone alone in a room, it's tough to say no to him.

Bennett obviously is plan A, but if he retires or something, Bellamy and Sheens will be plan B.

I read a while ago Crowe was keen on an expierienced coach with a proven track record of success. Those 3 were mentioned. IMO Bennett is the most likely, then Sheens, then Bellamy. One of them will be coaching us to our 21st or 22nd premiership.

I meant this year specifically. Everyone knows the sharks will be circling if the Broncos get off to a bad start.
