Great turnout of 13k at AAMI Park tonight for a trial game against the Crusaders.

Rebels went down 19-14

Rebels will be very competitive this season.

Reds and Tahs will be the Australian powers this season.

Rebels look ok, will likely finish mid-table.

I went to the game...they looked okay but nothign special.

Luke Rooney played well when he came on and looked dangerous when counter attacking.

They rely a lot on Mortlock to direct the team and don't really have the instinct that the established teams have at this stage.

Their first game against Warratahs will be a cracker...

Sounds like Vuna is going really well, can't wait to see him in action.

My tip is that he will push for a Wallabies spot later this year...has the size and pace but defensively he got caught out a little particularly when the Crusaders took it wide.

Rebels had over 1,200 at a corporate function in the city today.

Expecting a big turnout tomorrow night despite forecast of evening rain.

its 8mins into there first game...

f**king hell... are they the Brumbies mark II.

recycling possession and drawing defenders in towards the ruck. its like watching the Brumbies and the Wallabies of the early to mid 00's.

no surprise that Rod Mcqueen was mastermind behind that style.

Ill be interested to see if that style would work in this day and age... it may well... with the new attacking interpretations.

Might have been for the first 10 mins, but after that they weren't.

It was a horrible game to watch and I think the Rebels are going to have a very hard year just like the Force before them did.

Went to the game..great crowd but very disappointing performance for the Rebels.

The forward pack was dominated with too much turnover and the lineout was abysmal.

They can only improve next week..

"They can only improve next week"...after a 49-0 drubbing, thanks Captain Obvious. Apart from the first five minutes, the continually got worse. New side or not, a little concerning.

It's one game in. Any assessment is premature.

It is never going to be easy for a team to enter this comp in particular. Very tough for all teams, let alone a team that has never competed before at any level.
