assume so, don't think the ABC is interested in the upcoming round of football and who may win..... that don't win your show journalism awards.

why does he do it? What is he going to say that hasn't been said 100 times? Just let the season kick off Dave and let the Footy make the headlines. There is only so much dirty washing in public a fan can take!

Not really, Rugby League fans are resilient. Whatever it is, no body will care and just go to the footy this week anyway.

Plus it looks better if he does these interviews then not do them and turn them down. He has nothing to hide unlike other Sports CEOs.

I assume he's going in to talk up the new season and answer questions about the 'scandals' which the ABC will no doubt put to him. Something you would expect from the sport's CEO at this time of year. I don't agree with everything DGallop does but this isn't an issue.

Ther ABC was for many years the back bone of league coverage on a Sat arvo and continues to support league thru their radio commentary as well..it is better quality and more astute than any other commercial radio or tv coverage.
Gallop has a chance to promote league to those in country and regional Australia..those who are not brain dead follwers of 9 or News Ltd.

TV and radio coverage are separate issues.

ABC news - in every form: radio, internet and TV - take the hatchet to rugby league every chance possible while continuing to marginalise TGG on national sports bulletins, opinion pieces like the Offsiders etc.

Wake up.

I suspect his answer to a question regarding the number of off-field incidents this year in AFL when compared to RL will get an "ummm".

He should obviously as a representative of the game go armed with the necessary information to demonstrate that AFL is miles in front on this score. It might help get the media imbalance across to those without a fixed agenda. Presumably still a few watch the 7:30 Report.

AFL scandals during the off-season have left RL for dead.

Why not get the AFL CEO on there and grill him???

Indeed they do and this makes it fairly obvious for anyone with a brain. Some trolls may disagree, however, read the first sentence.

Channel 10 you would expect for their basic failure to distinguish between news and commercial content.

The ABC's position is a disgrace and is completely untenable. It would not be tolerated in any other area of news other than sport.

Really should have shot back at her citing the lack of AFL incident coverage.

I didn't expect it though.
