Rookies to look out for over the opening weekend

Sam Kasiano from the Bulldogs. Plays prop, a massive lad reminds me of a young Willie Mason. Hopefully he doesn't turn out like John Kite.
Dane Gagai from the Broncos. Is starting on the wing but fullback is his best position, killed it in the under 20s last year and was the star player for the Junior Kangaroos.

Who else should we watch out for in the opening week?

For the Eels I'll put forward the 'triplets';

Ryan Morgan (centre), Mitchell Allgood (prop), and Taniela Lasalo (second-row).

All three have big wraps and all three have been outstanding in the trials.

Orford is injured himself isn't he?

I think it will make the match even more interesting to be honest, not because it might weaken the Raiders but because it will be two rookie halves pairings (basically) against one another.

I mean it sucks Orford is injured though.

I'm interested to see how Jack Reed goes for us tonight. Trailed pretty well.
Since he is playing in Hodges' position, he is going to have to have a pretty good game to keep himself in the team.

Sam Williams' trial form sounded pretty solid so hopefully he goes well if he gets a run. Watching him play last year he seems like one of those playmakers who can really slow down the play to suit him.

Jake Foster for the dogs, would of played more then 1 game last year but got injured, is a big rangy second rower who has good ability with ball in hand, can't wait to see him and Kasiano run around.

Glen Fisiiahi - Debuting for the Warriors and he's playing on the wing. This kid has got wheels. He's very quick and he's been fantastic in the trials scoring 5 tries in 3 games.

Don't know about that. He might very well take Beale's spot on Hodgo's return...

Looking forward to seeing Sam Williams and The Fish playing.

Williams is the best halfback in the Toyota cup and i'm pretty confident he can make the step up at this point in time. The Fish is a future kiwi fullback.

One of the best things about round 1 is seeing rookies debut. Who could ever forget SBW debuting in 04, or Folau in 07.

I'm amped.
