Team Announcement

Wade McKinnon 1 FULLBACK

Mitch Brown 2 WING

Blake Ayshford 3 CENTRE

Geoff Daniela 4 CENTRE

Matt Utai 5 WING

Benji Marshall 6 FIVE-EIGHTH

Tim Moltzen 7 HALFBACK

Bryce Gibbs 8 PROP

Robbie Farah 9 HOOKER

Keith Galloway 10 PROP

Simon Dwyer 11 SECOND ROW

Alan Schirnack 12 SECOND ROW

Chris Heighington 13 LOCK

Jacob Miller 14 INTERCHANGE

Andrew Fifita 15 INTERCHANGE

Aaron Woods 16 INTERCHANGE

Todd Payten 17 INTERCHANGE
On paper it looks alright, though after what happened last week, it doesn't. I think it's fair to give Brown & Daniela another shot, but there may be a few who we wont see again when the others come back, if they play similar to last week?

At this stage would like to see moltzen in centres and Miller at half When we are at full strength would like to see Moltzen on wing playing a floating winger role and he spends half of his time literally sitting in Mackinnon pocket so as soon as MacKinnon splits the line he has speed ready to offload to

Stupid idea, Attack wise it sounds legit, but he can't tackle at all. attacking sides would run at him all day long rendering him pointless in attack.

I'd prefer to see a better back row starting and Moltzen on the bench with Miller starting at 7.

I think i'd prefer to see
1 - Brown
2 - McKinnon
3 - Daniella
4 - Ayshford
5 - Utai

Ayshford would have a better idea how to run off Benji than anyone in the backline at present and benji favours Lawrence's side, so I'd have Ayshford in Lawry's spot.

McKinnon got into some gaps but has Covell-esque pace.
MacKinnon would leave Covell in his wake Why MacKinnon on wing Absolutely Nuts Brown isn't half the fullback that MaCKinnon is Thank God Sheens has some sense

Ellis is very very close. They really want to play him but the chance of injury may be too high as he is just on the border.

I would hope his return would either see the removal of Dwyer of let Miller back to the 20's. Ndaira can cover Farah in the warm up if need be

Ndaira would even be a better option than Miller on the bench. You can't throw a rookie half in for 20 minutes a game and expect him to click in and play his natural game. Ridiculous.

Wests Tigers have received a massive boost on the eve of their round 5 clash against South Sydney tomorrow night with international second-rower Gareth Ellis making a welcome return from injury.
Head Coach Tim Sheens told weststigers.com.au that Ellis had passed a fitness test at the team’s final training run at the Sydney Football Stadium this morning and will now take his place in the side.
The player to drop out of the original 17 man squad named on Tuesday will not be announced until an hour before kick off.

I though of that myself the otherday.

Theres no benifit in playing a rusty 7 in Moltzen and a rookie who will only get 10-15mins. Love to see Miller get game time but we're in a crisis, now is not the time.

Ndaira has been traning with the team so he should go OK, hes always been a handy 9 anyway IMO, also a lot of other teams play with a hooker rotation so we wont be reinventing the wheel. Farah gets a rest and hopefully recovers, we go on to win the final, everyones happy ;-)

I don't mind Sheens shielding miller on the bench- Loomk what happened to Albert Kelly on his debut - His year was ruined....

Nadira is the obvious choice if farah goes down

HTF can we play like that after last week?
We didn't have a dud all over the park?
So much talent to choose from, where will we fit them all?
My best are:
McKinnon
Utai - surely now the buy of the year?
Ayshford
Lawrence
Tuqiri
Marshal
Lui
Galloway
Farrah - needs to get the brand name of the juice he had tonight & stock it.
Fifita
Ellis
Dwyer
Gibbs

Bench - Moltzen, Brown, Heighington, Fulton, Payten

One to be ommitted, will probably be Brown, but jeese, he had a good one tonight.

Looks as tho Big Red may be out now!! fmd he is injury prone.

All played well but my 3 points would go to Benji, not only his try which lifted us out of an ordinary half of football he then had his try asists. But what i liked most was his kicking game and he also put in a massive defensive effort i thought.. he was tackling mongoTaylor all night. 2 goes to Robbie who made a try and threatened all match, and put his body on the line in defence. 1 to Dwyer for 2 tries..... but i shat myself every time he took a pass in case he dropped it.. his hands need heaps of work .
Big mentions for Utai and Brown ,, they were just flawless and also McKinnon who i wished was a few yards faster,, he is safe as a bank tho all the same .

Agree, I think when Dwyer learns to catch the ball consistently, he will be looking at higher honors. Wouldn't Inglis just be phenomeinal if he was running off Benji? I thought Ellis was sensational, I mean it looked liked he had never been away.

As Robbie said it's one of their best wins ever. I'd have to agree. Half the team out. Great speed off the line in "D"....Players constantly in motion in attack. Little errors, good completion. Doesn't get much better than that.
