Houston has always been full of elementary errors and penalties at crucial times.

Definitely my biggest criticism of him.

I'll start by saying we were rubbish BUT

I am really sick and tired of copping it every single week from the refs, its the bullsh*t calls and 50/50's that go against us every week.

Manly got the 50/50's and got away with any number of questionable decisions, Saints got the rub of the green and the Boyd try still baffles me.

Tonight is was just a stitch up, Broncos got penalties when they needed them and got all the tight calls. The Fas call was mega, particular as in the next set, there was a much worse pass let go.

On other issues:

Mullen is at a tipping point, he's just not improving or more to the point, his consistency is just not there, he'll have a good game followed by absolute shockers like tonight with brain explosions and dumb options. If Bennett comes, he could become a legend, or he'll never reach his potential.

Also, can we just stop the Stone dribble, his team is now 2-3 and going nowhere, the bright start has been p*ssed away.

looked like shot ducks in the opposition 20 two weeks in a row now, total panic, absolutely pathetic. and crapass reffing is just giving me the sh*ts now, some consistency would be nice if we get penalised for it why shouldn't the broncos. I like the edwards video ref u couldn't see the ball touch the turf but u could definately see beale ripping edwards head from his shoulders. oh and stop dropping the dam ball that'd be nice.

PS The commentary team reckon De Gois copped a bad injury, they were calling either a collarbone or pec muscle injury.

Might be season ending.

Hats off to Corey Patterson, who was enormous, and to Joel Edwards who played very well. This season is very quickly turning into Ground Hog Day. A mirror image of 2010. Injuries and poor options in attack.

Dreaming if you think the refs did us in. Penalty count was only 8-6 Broncos.

Our dumb play lost the game. We only got smart in the 60th minute which is probably (definitely) too late.

We were very flat tonight, Mullen was too close to the line and was being rushed every play. The outside backs however were not making it any easier for him.

2/5 s not very ideal. The broncos were very average tonight, but so were we.
I Really hope we can turn it around sooner rather than later or its looking like another 8th-12th place year again

The obvious poor performers were Wes and Mullen, however I'm just as disappointed with the likes of Doogs and Sau who were about as ineffective as Dan Tolar.

74th minute, Thaiday did EXACTLY the same thing as De Gois and Houston loses the ball................... NO PENALTY.

Its the bullsh*t calls that go against us EVERY game.

JM

61.52, the Bronco #3 did exactly what De Gois did, not a penalty, all we want is consistently.

Both these instances were nothing like the De Gois one.

The Master Lockyer made him look sick.

What the? Mullen was poor but Lockyer was deadset average as well.

Eh seriously, we were our worst enemies by far. I reckon the refereeing influence is being highly exaggerated by some sore losers in here... the only thing I could agree on is that we deserved a few more penalties we didn't get, however the ones against us were appropriate, and the pass to Faaoso was clearly forward (although I thought the one coming off our own line was bullsh*t).

Edwards had a good game and was unlucky not to score. Some good cover defence from the Broncos, but he probably needed to try and put it down earlier.

Mullen had a poor game.

Tolar - just deadset average.

Probably on my own here but I think any criticism of Doogs' attack is a bit harsh - I made a note of watching him closely tonight and the limited ball he got was absolute sh*t. In fact, most of our backline got sh*t ball, we lacked direction big time out there tonight... I guess a case could be made that it was their fault for standing flat-footed rather than our halves playing poorly.

Major criticism as usual: nothing frustrates me more than watching us get dominated up the middle almost every game. The ease which other teams break through our line is extremely worrying, and so is the difficulty we have breaking through theirs..

Mate it was 6 to 1 and we got a couple of cheap ones late in the 1st half.

We arent being judged on our merits, the refs seems to ref us to a different standard to the opposition, just like they did last year.

Everything we did in the game, the Broncos did exactly the same, but count went to 6 to 1.

We just aren't copping a break.

Wow

The hissy fits in here are almost amusing to watch.

Yes we didn't play well. Yes some of our big names had sub par performances. Let's have a little perspective though fellas. Our injury toll is awful, especially to key players like Ike, Nev, Zeb and Henry.

It was greasy as hell out there and that put big pressure on our execution

There is plenty to take away from the game, our goal line defense for one and the performances of some of our fringe guys.

Drop Mullen? lol

And then it evened up....
The score was 8-6 at half time. We got more penalties in the second half.
Can't blame the refs for anything.

And as Gids and Stone said in the press conference, we burnt a lot of petrol early on the back of a 6-1 penalty count.

It would be really nice to not have to talk about the refs, but the fact remains, yet again we didn't get an even break. I just wished that all teams got treated equally, but its just not the case, some clubs just enjoy a easier ride with the refs, or as Stone said " I guess the refs expected Brisbane to win and reffed accordingly".

I wouldn't mind so much if we got the 50/50's break our way at home, but it seems that whenever refs come to Newcastle, they make a point of ensuring theres no home town advantage.

I won't go into too much detail but I feel we made errors at crucial times and Brisbane defended very well. I think we did well to stay with Brisbane for as long as we did. Our best player was Paterson and I think Macdougall must play well next week or face the axe. He looks in slow motion out there.
