Ennis was on Foxsports saying he never made any comments about Hindy's family as he wouldn't cross the line

Hindy has been quiet since the press conference, Ennis hasn't shut up. He is still whinging, Hindy will go down as one of the most popular and loved players of his generation. Ennis will be remembered as an untalented Eddie Munster looking annoying Merkin.........

what a crock of shit if he didnt cross the line why not just come out and tell us what he said?

he basically did on the the footy show

he said it was along the lines of "if you are gonna throw one why dont you"

he said empahtically he didnt sledge hindy personally or family wise, said he just wouldnt go there as has 3 kids of his own

hindy would never have stopped mid stride and walked away from the play to hit him over that piddly little comment
ive got no doubt that was the last thing he said just to twist the knife a bit further but what else did he say before that?
its pretty innocuous dont you think? why would hindy call him a grub if that was ALL he said

exactly. you don't lead off with "if you are gonna throw one why dont you". I can imagine that was the last thing that was said before Hindy stopped and turned around, but I am also confident that there was plenty more in there before that.

I still don't think Ennis said anything personal to Hindy.

He's simply an excellent sledger and him getting to Hindy was probably his best. He also has a point, why would he sledge another persons family when he has one himself? I very much doubt he'd cross that line.

Hindy is a legend and a true man of the game, but he's also a human, everyone has a breaking point and it doesn't need to be personal to reach that extent.

Mate using that logic why would Hoppa shove his finger up player's arses when he clearly wouldn't like it himself?

Ennis is one of the biggest grubs in the game and EVERYONE knows that. Whether it was about Hindy's family or something else personal, Ennis' reputation suggests he'll say anything on the field to piss someone off. Most players would not. But Ennis is one of the select few who WOULD cross the line no matter what so while this drama should be left at peace you'd have to be pretty gullibly to give Ennis the benefit of the doubt of this.

Absolute grub I agree, but there's no direct evidence apart from Hindy's reaction(which only really acts as evidence when people understand the context of Hindy reacting). I don't even think he has the reputation of referencing overly personal things when sledging, as much as I hate the bloke on the field I'm prepared to admit that he is an excellent sledger within the bounds of moral standards and it's been shown throughout his career because you never hear players complain about him being racist or him making unwarranted jokes on their family/friends etc(Take Dean Young/Gallen into account here).

Difference with this and Hoppa is that there is actual footage showing Hoppa shoving a finger up someones hole, whereas beyond guesswork, self-proclaimed lip reading abilities and an overreaction from the nice guy of the NRL there's not much to suggest he actually crossed that boundary.

My question, then, is what the hell did Ennis say to him initially? If he did tell Hindy, "You've been wanting to throw one for years," just what has Ennis been telling him all these years? And for Hindy then to come out in a post-match press conference and say publicly that Ennis is a grub? Sure, we all know it. But that is not like Hindy. Hindy would have learnt everything he knows from Nathan Cayless as to how to skipper the side. Could you ever imagine Caylo saying that about a bloke in a press conference? I think not...

Ergo, for mine, Ennis is not as innocent in all this as he's making himself out to be.
