You seem to have ignored the entire point of my post - our best players are already good enough. The problem is that we don't have enough of them for a full team.
It's not necessary for Burgess, Graham, Crabtree etc to play in the NRL - they can already mix it with the best forwards the NRL has to offer, and they've shown that.
The problem is that we have no depth, or even stand out players, in certain positions. We can't send these players to the NRL if we don't have them in the first place!
Mate there 17 players out there not just four or five, look at the kiwis once again draw some parallels and you will see there are many
Young team, numerous debutants, a few players 20 or younger, new team (almost a new forward pack for the kiwis due to injury)
What I mean is you dont need a team of Marquee players to win at international level.
You need a team wiling to go 80mins in the trenches for each other, for their family, for their nation.
A few awesome players can pull a team together like that. Look at kiwis WC win, not our top team not by a long shot but they went out there and made us proud, just like our draw with Aus.
honestly we should have been the easy beats after France. We held our own against Aus ALLTHE WAY, and we lost to u by only 8 when we dropped the ball all day and coulnt mount any pressure.
So you dont need a team of awesome players, just ones willing to bleed for that jersey.
And almost all of them play in the NRL. So much for the idea that we need NRL players to compete, eh?
The NRL may well improve out best players somewhat, but they didn't look overawed by NZ or Aus. The problem is we don't have enough players, and that's what we need to work on.
And that was just one game, pretty silly to make judgments like that after one game. I would love a series up in England best of 5 even just to see the real gap!
Aus grinded that win out of you guys, call a spade a spade mate they overawed you, how can you let the other team score a billion points in the 2nd half and not be overawed?
Your starting to sound like wiganjohn
