I'd have loved to have signed Esi last year, but im not sure what we would do with him if we got him now. As it is we've got Tate coming back from injury this year to replace Graham and Will Tupou cant get a run anymore. Esi is too good a player to just have as a depth backup player

Nathan Smith on $240k a season
Nigel Plum, who can turn a game in a heartbeat
Adrian Purtell, one of the most gifted ball runners in the game

Nigel Plum has been good for Penrith this season, he'll never be a great attacking player but his defence is first rate.

Puts the odd good hit on but I wouldn't put him in the class of a Hindmarsh or Dallas Johnson when it comes to being a good defender.

Hearing rumours that Sandow will knock back the bigger money from the Eels to stay with Souths. If true it has to be embarrassing for the Eels that 800k-1m of their money can't even lure a player like Sandow whose next best offer would have only been maybe 2/3's of the Eels offer. If true, Sandow would join a long list of players over the last couple years who have rejected the Eels. Inglis, Luke and Sandow just from Souths and others like Quade Cooper.

Take it from someone who was obsessively clicking every link that was even closely related to Inglis over the summer. Your CEO said he tried to make an offer to Inglis but Inglis wouldn't even hear him out.

So that's even worse than the other cases, with Inglis you weren't able to even make an offer.

Agreed, I think you are in real deep shit when u not able to sign someone like Sandow who is not a bad player but certainly not marquee, for 800k to a million, very sad actually.

mate the story about the Eels trying to go for GI had direct quotes from the Parra ceo, and it was never denied afterwards. It happened. He wasn't interested enough to even hear them out.

I want Sandow at Parra. I rate him as a halfback and think he will become a very good player. However I will also admire him if he shows loyalty and stays at Souths.

I want him too, we've put 5 years into him and this year he's showing signs of growing into all that potential he has. If he does go I won't blame him at all. I'll be mad at my club for signing Sutton ahead of him. If does stay, for what would be significantly less, Crowe should build a gold plated statue of the bloke.

We bitch about players all the time when they're selfish and go for money, even though it's what 99% of us would do in our own careers. On the rare occasion players show loyalty they should be congratulated. Even though it makes the inventors of the salary cap turn in their grave.

cheap talk. Souths are not the Rorters.
Issues souths have had on salary cap have been open issues and example with the Inglis saga , souths were called naive , because Rusty "spoke" about it.
