Hey Jarryd, remember that time in 2009 you cleaned up Bryson Goodwin with your knees and it was ALOT worse then what you got? No? Oh well proceed with your tear laden complaint then.

Now I know what Smith did wasn't good but of all people to whinge about it its someone who should have been suspended for it in 2009 but got off because he was the media darling at the time. FMD.

Difference is Bryson didn't slow up before scoring Jayne did. Smith had time to slow himself down and just jump over hayne.

Both hayne and Bryson in 09 were going full tilt at the line.

In both cases there was no point dropping the knees and both cases should have been sent to the judiciary and both players charged and suspended.

How exactly was either offender going to prevent a try being scored in those two cases?

They weren't. It's a stupid, intentional, dangerous act and should be severely punnished.

In fairness to the NRL, if Stain got suspended the week before the GF, it's a fair bet that the rest of the Parramatta "team" wouldn't have bothered playing the next week, they have to save face

Jarryd at least had a chance to save the try because Goodwin wasn't in control of the ball.

They were both attacking a kick that was put into the ingoal.
Why would Hayne pull out if Goodwin doesn't have the ball?

Jarryd had the ball under his arm and was diving to the ground in the other instance.
That's the difference between the two.

Also you don't see the point of contact in the photo from 2009.
He connects with the side of his leg because he tries to get his legs out of the way at the last moment.

Smith connects with the point of his knee.
