It's amusing to see so many have a problem with Mal's comments.

On this board there was almost unanimous consensus that the decision to cite Thurston was very poor and an indictment on McCallum's abilities as chief match reviewer. And to look at the Taylor thread one would see that most agree that the charge was excessive, especially in light of the leniency shown towards Uate. But now because Mal vocalises those feelings it is regarded as a whinge.

You cannot have it both ways. Mal is absolutely correct in his assessment of the judiciary proceedings and Carr's major overreaction about Queensland's media lockout. It seems that Carr is happy to dish criticism when he sees fit but can't stomach any sent his way. Poor reflection on him as it stands.

Mal Meninga is the greatest coach in Origin history. He's earned every right to pass judgment on those charged with leading the game. When he speaks they should be listening, not getting all huffy and threatening him with trifles.
