As the Crusaders and Reds prepare to clash this Saturday at Suncorp for the Super Rugby final, we thought we’d look to Rugby Challenge to provide some insight into how the game may turn out. We fired up the game and pitted these two great sides against each other in a simulated clash.

In a hard fought match, our simulation had the Crusaders edge out the Reds 29 to 20. Maitland scored the first try of the game, with McCaw and Carter also picking up tries for the Crusaders, and Maitland grabbing a double late in the game. Carter landed 4 from 5 shots at goal including one successful penalty. Davies and Cooper scored a try each for the Reds, with Cooper converting both as well as kicking two penalties.

Of course, anything can happen on the day, and while they were successful in a simulation in our studio, the Crusaders will have their work cut out for them in real life against the Reds at Suncorp. The team here anticipates some great franchise rugby this weekend, whatever the real final result may be.

Unfortunatly that wont happen - along with Sidhe cutting ties with HES Interactive to make another League game that also means that Sidhe wont be lending any support for future League titles...

HES interactive have dropped the ball big time with their decision... I guess they werent behind the League titles all along.

This game looks great... cant wait to see it in action though

I like it, not much gameplay shown, but from what I did see it does look like it moves a lot better then the crap infested league games.

It's not really surprising that Rugby Challenge looks better than our League games. They're previous generation titles. This is our first rugby title the current generation of Microsoft and Sony hardware. We move with the times and we learn from our gamers

Just to clear things up regarding Rugby League, HES, with whom we have an ongoing and healthy relationship, have opted to take that series in a different direction. While we would have loved to try besting Rugby Challenge with a new League game next that is not to be, and there are no hard feelings between us and HES. We are now hoping that Rugby Challenge does so well that we will get to top it with a sequel.
