Anyway it's getting a bit boring and the problem for Rob is really the fact he Stands out more in a Crowd if you catch my drift ...

It's something that rears it's ugly head from time to time in this forum....

I am not sure how you can make racial undertones (your drift) regarding Lui, when our side includes, Tuqiri, Utai, Marshall, Murdoch-Masila, Fifita and our under 20's squad is full of islanders who are shining.

Ridiculous point.

Marshall is a club superstar - it wouldn't matter if he was rainbow coloured.
Lote is in a similar bucket.
Utai is not subject to the same criticism because his role in the side is not a focal point like Lui's.
Fifita blows and has been dropped accordingly, no one bothers giving him any stick.
Murdoch-Masila has barely played first grade this year.

I think his point is a fair one. I have definitely heard plenty of taunts from the grandstands directed at Lui - they rarely refer to his play, but rather the colour of his skin or the incident with his partner.

Gambler, my point is that he could be an albino and it would not change a thing.

John Morris offered exactly what Lui does and he copped some vicious sprays.

It is about ability and not anyone's skin colour.

I agree that his form has been on whole quite poor this year. However, his game on the weekend was much improved.

I simply feel he is unfairly targeted by users of Tigers forums. Every club has a scapegoat who will be trashed, even if they have a good game. It is going to take a string of match defining performances for Lui to get the credit/respect he probably deserves - and for someone with his limited experience it may be a while before he puts that kind of consistency together.

Put simply he is of TSI descent and in my view in this forum the impression i get is, colour is ok if your of the Exotique variety (not of australian origin heritage) thats the way it is ..

I have not seen any comments anywhere in this forum hating on Lui because of his colour or race.

We are unique here in the Tigers forum, generally because we always give honest justifications for our criticisms and praises and they have always been football related and nothing else.

And that is what we are always debating.

I personally think any notion that the hatred toward Lui by some of us here is even remotely racially driven is ludicrous and borderline offensive.

Correct MU, offensive indeed. I am not in anyway a racist.

I am a passionate Tigers fan who only ants what is best for our club.

Lui is not ordinary because he is of TSI origin,he is ordinary because of a lack of tackling technique coupled with minmum effort put in,he could be Robert Smith for all I care and I would still want him dropped.

Ridiculous comment...

I certainly wish we had players the caliber of Thurston, Bowen, Thaiday & Inglis at our club...

The Magpies had a proud tradition of working with ATSI players- eg Brett Davis and the McGuiness brothers immediately come to mind. Balmain too with Corowa. I'm sure WT have continued the opportunity and promotion of the code among the ATSI community that our 2 original clubs provided. Rightful criticism is constructive and merited- I dont care what a persons background is- I'm glad they want to pull on a WT guernsey and give their best for the team. Any criticism of their effort and/or ability is solely related to their on field performance. Nothing else.

thats not what you hear gameday or read in this forum, and anyway who is talking about the past, im talking about the last couple of years ..wow do you think your the only person who knows about indigenous players of the the past ,Im not talking about the past it's the present.

Rob Lui gets blamed for everything that goes wrong on game day being one of the junior players in the team its just not right. The majority of the blame and anger should be aimed at our 2 star players and our P*ss weak forwards.....

Please provide examples and I will deal with the posts and their authors accordingly. Otherwise, take back your comments and apologise.

If there's a racist past there will be a very high possibility of a racist present and future. Saying people here are racist at Lui is f**king stupid because there is no such hatred towards any other dark skinned players in our team. Furthermore, it doesn't explain the hatred towards Beau Ryan, John Morris or Daniel Fitzhenry over the last 24 months does it?

Rob Lui gets blamed for everything that goes wrong on game day
No he doesn't. He gets blamed for his costly errors, which are many.
being one of the junior players in the team its just not right.
Miller, Groat, Simona, Woods and Murdoch-Masila are all younger and have proven to be more reliable. Schirnack, Fifita, Dwyer, Lawrence and Moltzen are all just a year older. This time last year they were all greatly better players than Lui has ever been. He has played 34 of his 35 career NRL games over the last 2 and a half seasons at halfback, a rather important and pivotal role. And for the most part, he's been shithouse.
The majority of the blame and anger should be aimed at our 2 star players and our P*ss weak forwards.....
When they do wrong they cop their sprays and rightfully so, but fact of the matter is, their poor performances are all less in number than Lui's. And a lot of the times it's Lui's poor play that forces the rest of the team to cover him and eventually look bad themselves.

oh no, there I go being racist.

I don't want to jump in the middle of an argument here but b.bear is talking shit. I mostly lurk in here at work but this forum is one of the few footy forums where you can have a intelligent argument without it being filled with dribble from trolls and teenagers with no idea.

Liu doesn't even cop the most shit on this forum and no were near the level that John Morris, Fitzy and Sheens cops. But I guess that is ok with b.bear because they are whiteys

Usually if a person Jacks up to the point some of our members are doing at the moment ,it say's to me that their might well be some inclinations to the point of view that has been expressed.

It's only a point of view ,an opinion it is not a personal attack. but some of the replies really leave me thinking .........
