Being realistic, I don't think people realise how bad next year is going to be without Lockyer.

Let's just go through the top three teams at the moment and look at their halves.

Melbourne ... OK they have Cronk, but Waddop was totally unknown at the start of the year, and I believe is having a wow of a year.

Manly ... two virtual rookies.

St George ... When Jamie Soward started with the Saints, he'd been discarded by the Roosters. Hornsby would be below the pecking order behind Wallace for a NSW jersey.

Let's believe that Norman or Hunt will step up two notches, and Wallace one notch.

I'm merely stating the coach that alot of top players start as average players ... in fact ... most do when it comes to the NRL.

Is Thurston the answer? Is buying another half? Hasn't quite worked for the Roosters has it who started the year with Carney and Pearce, and are now sitting near the bottom of the ladder.

There's more to building a team than relying on stars to perform week in week out. Manly are going gang-busters with two rookie halves, one of which was playing Q Cup last year.

Its good to see the prodigal son return to give us some more leadership. As for people going on about us losing Locky, yes he's a legend but we can't just go to the backyard and pick another off the tree. We got Hunt, Norman and Capewell surely one of them can step up, take the 6 jersey and play well or one of the others will take it off them.
