It just proves that 16 teams in the NRL are two too many, as there aren't enough quality No.9's and half-backs. It's not like soccer or AFL where anybody can play anywhere, it goes without saying they're specialist positions. Some NSW teams have to go to NSW Cup I'm afraid.

I know exactly how long it takes for players to gel, i have been watching footy for a long time and i've watched us struggle for 20+ years since we lost Kenny and Sterling!

If Hayne thinks he will eventually be a 5/8th and we think Sandow will be long term, then we NEED to put Hayne there next year and let him take a backseat to Sandow and learn his trade!

Roberts is not good enough at 5/8th imo, so if Hayne will be a 5/8th in the future, stick him there now and stay there......
But is Burt good enough at fullback?? He did some good things but honestly you can't have a fullback that refuses to contest bombs. ATM Burt at 1 and Hayne is 6 is needed for this team but Hayne really should go back to the 1.

I'd rather Roberts at 6 then Hayne as he is a much better ball player. Hayne seems to have one move which he uses over and over again plus his passing game is painfully slow and no where near crisp enough. Lets not forget Roberts won't be expected to carry the team but fill a role

Haynes biggest asset is his running game which is been vastly under utilized at 6

In the end the best player in the world beat us tonight.
Cameron Smith - WOW, what a player.
With 20 minutes to go, Cameron lifted and Storm lifted with him to another level.

Bullshit, we have over 100 players in England because we are getting rorted with our tv deal. The cap must rise and the only way to do that is more teams in new areas.

When Lockyer shifted to five-eighth he was 27 years old and won Dally M Five-Eighth that year. The Broncos won a premiership two years later.

Anyway, Hayne's a long way from understanding the game well enough to play 6 like Lockyer did in 2004. But he's also a lot faster and stronger than Lockyer was in '04, so I hope we let him make the most of his running game for a few years.

Yeah blokes like Carmont, Vince Mellars, Lincoln Withers are over there.

We can make teams with those high calibre players

Very true.

Hayne offloads well and he has that great long pass to the outside, but he doesn't have the short passing game most first grade halves have - that ability to put your support into a position to use the ball. Hayne either puts the guy through himself or he makes the wrong pass.

You could say Hayne's passing game is - wait for it - rocks or diamonds.

Yeah pick out the Nuffies , King,Hodgson,Beaver, Rangi Chase etc etc. Not saying all of them over there but there is over 100. They beat the best of England in the Exiles game.

If they both train in their respective positions all off season and are prepared properly (which most people seem to think that Kearney and Arthur are quite capable, so there should be no arguments) and the addition of Sandow should be enough to make us look much better in attack.

There is a reason Roberts has played a lot of NSW Cup, he offers very little. Hayne has been thrown into a position that he is unfamiliar with and has done a decent job, again IF his future is there, why aren't we doing it now?

DO we really need to get Sandow and Roberts to try and gel, fail and then move Hayne there again and then in 2013 we finally accept that he is a 5/8th???

Everyone seems to have such faith in Kearney but not when it comes to playing Hayne is the position that even he admits he will end up at........

I believe that Sandow and Hayne can be our long term halves combo and i believe Kearney can get the team to work around them, they both have the talent and just need to be steered in the right direction, i don't think Roberts has much hope.......

It will be much easier to slot a fullback like Barba or another proper support player in the team then changing your halves for the 100th time in 20 years!!!

I think Hayne has probably proved over the last 3 weeks that his kicking game under pressure is not there yet.

Just to give you guys an idea, Hayne form under 16s could not kick. He has developed this over time and while his boot is massive his tactical kicking game isn't there yet. Tonight we missed a halfback or 5-8, someone who can kick for the sideline and slow the game down.

Hayne next year should go back to fullback to give him more time but he himself said that he doesn't think he has the composure to play 5-8 and I would have to agree with him. I want to see him a few plays off the ruck contesting kicks, running onto short passes or hammering short side not having to play the open side and set up everyone esle.

We had no right to be ahead in that game, our forwards won us the forward battle and our backrow of Lasalo, Matuia and Hindy were brilliant (Id throw Horo and Smith, they were backrowers tonight not centres). Our cover defence kept the storm out for the most part of 60 min but once they cracked them they got on a role. If our pack stays the same next year we will be very difficult to beat if we can snag a few NRL standard outside backs. Mannah, Fui and Allgood were also brilliant, how good is it that we have struggled for years to produce props (since the Cayless brother came through --98 which is 13 years) and in the space of a few years we have produced to good-uns in Mannah and Allgood.

It is very good. How good is Mitch Allgood coming along? What a find!

So proud of our team with a but of luck and a touch more class we win all those games. We need a half back and some decent outside backs. Don't understand the Hayne bagging??? He is the best player we have had since the 80's. Yes he stuffed that try by being to Fancy but I would not swap him for anyone.

Proud of our team especially the forwards. Reni is gold!!! Love him in a non gay way.

He has been in our system for some time. DA put him in NSW Cup last year and it worked wonders!

He has always had the potential and he is delivering, he has been outstanding this year for a rookie!
