With friends like Myles and frank who needs enemies! Seriously if they wanted to drink and break the pact they could stay home and drink. But no they decided to drink in public with carney who everyone knows should not be drinking ! No respect for teammate club and themselves !

Did anyone hear Gould on triple m yesterday talking to Ray Warren? He suggested Carney may have done this deliberately to be sacked by the club. He didn't elaborate mind you but he certainly knows more than we do about this situation.

He did sound awfully home sick for the Raiders when he was interviewed after we played them

Carney is on the outer with the squad.

The only reason Carney hasn't been sacked is Nick and Steve are concerned what will happen to him after that.

I got the impression that Noyce has had enough when he did that presser. Nick Politis on the other hand.... And why is it that Politis NEVER comes out and speaks to the media or the fans about this. Never.

Nick Politis is the only reason he is at the club otherwise he'd have been sacked in November when everyone else at the club wanted him gone.

Their teammates who have adhered to the alcohol ban might disagree. Trust in your teammates is a huge thing in league, Myles, Carney and FPN have broken that bond. Forget carney and his supposed drinking problem, it's up to him to sort that out, the issue here is that he is has often been given preferential treatment by the clubs bigwigs and a host of chances. After a while his teammates are going to start to jack up at this, as well as mistrust him.

The roosters haven't gone downhill this season because Todd's getting plastered, they've fallen in a heap because morale is shot - a direct consequence of Todd's actions.

Carney didn't bring the club down smh stop reading the telecrap

The fact that he openly violated a team rule in public adds weight to the theory he's deliberately trying to get out of the Roosters. If that's true he's certainly a troubled soul, and Easts aren't helping him by giving him unlimited chances.

Todd Carney has plenty of problems. I get the feeling alcohol is the least of them.

tend to agree... alcohol seems to be what he turns too to deal with his issues
as for his issues, his family history is pretty savage...
he's an incredible talent, but as has been the case for a number of years now, his playing welfare has to come 2nd to his personal welfare. He's got some issues and he needs to find a way to over come them.

On the roast they all said he has to go and play overseas for a while. With his criminal history would he be allowed to leave the Country????

As Raider said I don't think he can. The UK has tightened work permits quite significantly of late and with Carney's record you would have to wonder. Maybe France? Although in some respects France is even tougher with work permit laws.

How does the work permit work in the UK for RL players without a British passport or the kolpak ruling? In soccer they have to have played something like 75% of their national teams matches in the last 3 or 4 years.

Let's say he wants out. It's our fault that he deliberately tries to get himself sacked instead of going to Nick Politis and saying "I don't want to be here anymore" you are serious with this?

I'd like to know what more the club can do than what we've already done. He's 25 years old if he wants to himself then he will but you can't go blaming the club for what he's doing.

Whoawhoawhoa. I never said any of this is your "fault". I just said it's not helping. I can clearly see Politis and co have gone out of their way to do what they thought was best to help this individual. But all I'm saying is they may have gone the wrong way about it.

Fair enough, I misinterpreted your last sentence.

It's on Carney now to decide how to sort his life out.
