which the French do, because you will find that most people don't enjoy throwing their money away.
Wasn't it you who claimed that only 4 teams had a chance to win the RWC? I was merely attempting to demonstrate to you the flaw in your reasoning. Obviously a waste of time.
Yawn.
BDGS is ruining this thread.
100% correct. No matter how much union supporters try to give the illusion that the quality of their wc is better and most teams have a chance of winning, the reality is that the statistics stand as they are. Union have only had 5 teams that have made the final: Australia, new Zealand, France, south Africa and England. RLWC has also had 5 teams :Australia, new Zealand, England, France and great Britain. The big difference is that the union wc is better promoted
Firstly, saying there have been 5 side when 2 of them are effectively the same side (England and Great Britain) is clutching at straws.
Secondly, the difference between the world cups is that one is a credible international competition and the other one is more of a 'show piece' of the game. Im not having a crack at international league here, because I like the way the rlwc is set up so that the minnows can play other minnows, but you can't honestly say the league world cup is some sort of credible competition when the draw is set up how it is.
Back on the topic of the thread, Rugby League needs to decide whether they want the international game to be meaningful (harsh eligibility laws, evenly drawn world cup), or more a show piece to promote the game in new markets (what it is now).

There is only four teams that can and will win it. That has nothing to do with any other sport or sporting event.
It's been set up like that once for gods sake
Once in 13 times.
well, at least you're on the mark with that statement. There really are now only 4 teams that can win the RWC. It's just a pity that you being correct for a change is a result of circumstance rather than any special insight or understanding on your part.
Very funny and entertaining post.
The winner of the world cup will be whoever wins between NZ and Aus this week. And then it will prove me correct.
I wouldn't bet on it. If the ABs win then yeah, they'll more than likely go on to win the whole thing. However if it were an Aus v Wales decider then the Welsh wouldn't be without a chance of winning. But whatever happens, it will not prove you correct. In fact you would be well advised to keep your commentary to sports you have at least an elementary knowledge of. Perhaps league, although that might be pushing it.
