Random Royal Rumble Rumblings

I was just watching back through all the winners of the royal rumble on you tube. A couple of things were of interest to me:

- hacksaw jim duggan won the first royal rumble
- austin seems to have won the most rumbles (3)
- undertaker has only won 1 rumble, not coming until 2007
- there has only been one time where two people were declared joint winners

For mine, the RR is the event of the year. What are your favourite moments? I like seeing the random people returning/debuting at RR (Tazz, Sandman, BookerT and even Rowdy Roddy in 2007 were all cool moments)

Cheers,
Moffo

Royal Rumble 2000 is my favourite PPV of all time, so many cool moments.

Austin's performance in 1997 was brilliant. Lugar/Bret Hart dual elimination in 94. Michaels skinning the cat in 95. Vader's performance in 96.

 Watched that Rumble (1999) recently and disliked it immensely. It was all just McMahon/Austin and nothing else. What really annoyed me was Kane's elimination, guy could have been a welcome distraction but after clearing the ring, he's eliminated by some mental ward crew. WTF?

Very Russo-riffic Rumble, and that's what I disliked about it.

Still got to watch so many of the other Rumbles, but the best I've seen is 2004, great booking, a lot of storylines involved in the match and just a great pace all-round.

Worst I've seen is either 1999 or 1995. 95 basically for similar reasons as 99, except it was shorter and I think had less superstars, if that's possible.

Kane going apeshit in 2001 was cool, back in the days when Kane was actually a feared big man, not a nothing mid carder.

Taka Michinoku smashing his head on the concrete after Kaientai "invaded" the rumble for the second or third time in 2000, with the King referrign to them as Chinese (<3 bigot Lawler).

The AAA luchas in the 1997 Royal Rumble, really random seeing the WWF give so much spotlight to an outside organisation in that way.

Also in 1997, Jerry Lawler entering and being eliminated immediately, only to forget he was ever in the Rumble. Seriously funny moment, and he is dynamite behind the desk, with my favourite comment of 1997 so far being the one where he speculated whetehr Jose Lethario's arteries were clogged with beans and rice. So racist, but soooo funny.

Jerry Lawler was a waste as a wrestler and as a commentator. He killed wrestling for me....him and Cena

 Yeah neither Marshall, I blame Fox 8 and their deal with the WWE running out during Smackdown's peak.

I'm a huge Lawler fan. he was one of my favourites in the early/mid 90s (his fued with Bret Hart was AWESOME) and after that his commentary was second to freakin none.
