Brisbane v Carlton
Essendon v Port Adelaide
Sydney v Fremantle
West Coast v Melbourne
Adelaide v Western Bulldogs
Collingwood v Richmond
North Melbourne v Greater Western Sydney
St Kilda v Gold Coast
Geelong v Hawthorn

A home team bonanza, although Hawthorn could roll the Cats and Carlton the Lions.

Hawthorn's opening five rounds is the toughest start to a season I've seen any club handed in 37 years of watching the game.

Not to worry, they're big boys...

Spare a thought for the Demons though, who would have been wishing for a GC or GWS follow-up fixture after Saturday's debacle.

West Coast @ Pattersons!!!

Melbourne is deadset about to bring a knife to a gunfight.

A Swiss Army Knife!

More like a Swiss Army Knife without the Knife attachment!

Melbourne are about to bring a Swiss to a gunfight!!!

Avert your eyes kiddies, it'll be a true Australian Horror Story!

That would of course be before you looked at Richmonds draw....

& yes, before you start over rating the trip to Perth, I'll raise you a trip down the highway.

We copped 4 of last years top 5!

Close, I'll grant you, but West Coast (as the premier in waiting) in Perth will be the toughest fixture on offer for anyone and everyone, period, this season, and I'd much sooner be playing Melbourne than Adelaide.

Richmond will be playing 4 likely finalists and Hawthorn 5; so its pretty close.

Your long standing hard on for West Coast aside, Geelong is presently a tough trip than Subiaco.

You have

Collingwood MCG
Geelong MCG
Adelaide MCG
West Coast Perth
Sydney Tasmania

As opposed to

Carlton
Collingwood
Melbourne
Geelong in Geelong
West Coast @ Etihad

You may have 2 lower finalists but both are on home turf, 1 of them being in Tasmaniathorn FFS

Based on R1 form, we have the top 4 on the first 5 rounds, including the toughest road tri around at present.

We win.

Well, Richmond need to get a win up somewhere.

FMD, Am I again to fall victim to your penchant for hi-jacking threads with your overt tiger-centric ramblings?

Computer says yes...

You're like that Tiger tragic on the Marngrook ads with his Richmond car that looks for all the world like a Flintstones vehicle.

Sheesh.

With the Easter long weekend, the AFL is a chance to maintain the 40k crowd average from the first round, at least for one more round.

Big games likely to draw 70+K crowds:

Collingwood vs Richmond
Geelong vs Hawthorn

then need other 7 games to average 30k, not guaranteed, but doable.

Good thing that the AFL scheduled Melbourne in to play West Coast in Perth then Grobbers.

The sadistic Eagle tragics will pack into Pattersons to see the blood welling on the turf.

Had they scheduled that one for Etihad, they would have got 127 persons there; including those confused souls who would have turned up thinking that Carlton were playing.

Couldn't agree more, Eagles fans are smelling some sacrificial meat for the picking, they'll wanna witness it.

Predictable results last night although Freo, Port and the Dogs fought hard. Pies v Tigers was pretty boring with the kicking for goal borderline abysmal.
