I'm not sure why it's called "Good Friday" because I'm pretty sure it celebrates (or a different words) the day Jesus got crucified. Learn your Christianity, Christmas is his birthday

although for a serious answer, some say it was originally supposed to be "Holy Friday" and somewhere along the line the synonymy of "holy" and "good" eventually saw it become "good"
