C'mon guys it's not like he called the Warriors a bunch of useless black c$&@$......... He was using a term to describe a style of football that the warriors are reknown for playing......

Can't even remotely see how anyone could get offended by that term.......

Get over it and bring on the Jungle Footy more teams should play with that kind of flamboyance !!! And more commentators should use more off the wall terms !!

What is 'jungle footy'? You could say the Tigers play 'jungle footy' yet I've never heard it once.

It's a poor choice to brand a style of footy with that name, especially with the origins of said team's players.

I agree with this.

Poor choice to be offended by it too.

I'm not offended by it, but I'm not of polynesian descent either. Doesn't change the fact that a team full of people with dark coloured skin, who play a brand of footy that is similar to a few teams, are the only ones that get the branding of playing 'jungle footy'.

Racist or not, it's a pretty stupid tag to be throwing around.

Unfortunately these days people go looking for things to get offended by so they can have their little moment of outrage and claim some sort of moral higher ground, even if they take offense on behalf of someone else (who may or may not be offended themselves).

It may not have been the most appropriate comment but it's hardly something to get annoyed about, especially when there is nothing to suggest the comment was intended in an offensive manner.

Well... the main reason the Tigtogs play the way they do is because of a certain skillful no.6. It's quite possible that the same racist allegations would be raised again. Probably best to just forget the phrase unless the team being referred to is exclusively white and anglo.

the term is a bit off, but the worst part is i honestly don't remember when the warriors last played a flamboyant style of football.

Agree....seems to be a ''cool,i get on a soapbox now'' sort of thing.Storm in a teacup until said soapboxers turn ,or try, to turn it into something else. I'll ask a polynesian mate when i see him today and get his response.I bet he couldnt give a stuff.

Jungle ball can be quite valid I feel. It's not so much about flamboyancy, it's more about lack of planning and team strategy. Characterized by simple stuff like dummy half running, high risk offloads and just generally a lazy, everyone for himself attitude, lack of desire to win as a team. Benji plays this way, but his teammates are better. Warriors improved a lot in this regard under Cleary but still not where they'd like to be.

Probably better applied to Parra than NZ then.
