PARRAMATTA is set to reap the rewards of what was a dismal 2011 season, with recruit Chris Sandow to be the buy of the year for the Eels

According to former Test play maker and Newcastle great, Matthew Johns, South Sydney halfback Chris Sandow has been the buy of the year for the Eels.

“Parramatta will look back at this year and say what was the highlight of 2011 - and they will say signing Chris Sandow,” Johns told nospam11.com.au.

“He’s been terrific.”

People think because Sandow isn't topping the Dally M charts that he wasn't a good buy. As soon as he can play behind a strong pack he will be massive for us and worth every penny of his massive contract.

If he's such a shit coach, then why do we need to sign more players?

If the team we have is so good, why do you care whether or not we sign anyone new?

:sarcasm: ... there's pretty much f**k all logic in this post ... not even sure why you bothered typing it

Right but do we need to replace them with stars? People complain that we haven't signed any players but there are hundreds of players off contract. The fact that none of our off-contract players have signed with anyone else is proof of that.

We don't need to replace them with stars but we should be replacing them with established first graders unless we want next year to be another rebuilding year (which I'm sure some will justify as an excuse if we're struggling AGAIN next year). The players we have off contract have over a thousand games worth of first grade experience between them. You can't rely on rookies to step up and replace that.

The logic is fine mate. You just don't like it because you don't have any answers.

If our team is so good, why do we need more stars?

If Kearney is such a shit coach, why bother bringing more players in?

Make up your f**king mind. Is the team shit or is it the coach?

So is it Andrew, or Matthew?

“He’s been terrific.”

He then says Parramatta's highlight of 2011 will be the signing of Sandow, nothing to do with being the buy of the year.

The coach is shit and we need some players to replace our retiring stars.

Maybe, just maybe the coach will come good, and if he does, we than have a good squad for him to work with.

Well in that article it is Matty Johns but Andrew thought he was a great signing too last year on TV

The point is if you fork out 550K for Sandow you are better off making sure you use him and Hayne correctly and get your money's worth rather than chasing another 550K signing to fix up the fact you ain't getting value for money from your current big buys

Is it possible that we are not making signings or announcing them because of the uncertainty with Kearney and his immediate future ?
f**k I hope that's what it is. Surely the Board has given Kearney an ultimatum - perform/improve by Round 13, or you're done. Bring in a new coach capable of NRL level tactics for the second half of 2012, and open the chequebooks to replace our retiring/departing roster for 2013 onwards.

Have you watched Hayne play at all this year? Do I need to start quoting the stats that have been quoted all year that show despite what people seem to think, Hayne is actually playing well this year?

I actually agree with Dogmatix when he says we are not getting value for money from Chrissy. He's gone ok, but he could be going so much better. That comes down to Sk and his game plans, structures etc etc.

People think our 09 run was all Hayne, il think you'll find our fowards started to dominant games and in that run we leaked f**k all points. Hayne cops it simply because of that period people have set unreasonable standards.

We need to recuit well in the fowards or Kearney goes.

Exactly. It is pointless to do anything until a coach is signed. In the last two seasons Bennett and Hasler have been on the market and we are stuck with a bloke that makes Langmack look like a genius. Blokes who look like horses do not make good coaches it seems.
