Kearney to leave Parramatta

Interesting stuff.

Must say that i am another who is dissapointed, Kearney basically inherited a rabble of a club that has been f**ked over recently by bullshit internal politics, and bullshit management of the football club. You can all whine as much as you like about the team's performances under the coach, but most of it stems from poor leadership and management of the football club in general, mostly in the past 3 years.

To which we added a rookie coach to try and sort out. f**king genius.

I can only assume that we have a replacement lined up, given the timing. Frankly the only un-employed coach I would be happy with is Phil Gould. At least he would have the profile to be above the petty internal shit that sticks to our clubs profile like shit to a blanket.

But we all want instant gratifcation from our football on a weekend, to remind us that our lives aren't so boring afterall, because, HEY! at least Parra is winning!! And when Parra dont, we all get on an internet forum and bitch about it, and its sooo much easier to focus all that frustration on a select few figures because I know better and then I feel a bit better because I got it all off my chest and now I am righteous.

The Irony of it all is that Kearney, and Nolan, have done some great work in sorting out the next few seasons for the club and who ever is stepping into the job will reap the benefits.

That is all.

This.

Yeah but I wasn't sacked from my old job. An enforced change of career isn't the same as a voluntary one.

Kearney will now go and do something other than coach an NRL team. Is that the same as a mere 'change in career'?

You brought up the point that because DA isn't involved in another coaching role he's unemployable in that field. He could very well be like you and decided not to apply for roles in that field any more.

"AFTER a torrid two seasons in charge, Parramatta and coach Steve Kearney have finally parted ways.

Parramatta plan to hold a press conference Friday to confirm Kearney's demise.

The board canvassed the opinions of its leading players before making a final call on Kearney."

Enough with the DA talk he's one of the problems why our juniors was such a rabble.

Funny. I seem to remember DA did exactly what SK has done with the 17 year olds playing NYC and some playing NSW Cup etc. it was praised at the time and then the knives turned on him when the wonderful, truthful board turned on him and spread bullshit to the masses.

Kearney has started doing the same thing and he is a genius.......makes me laugh.......

We were runners up in SG Ball and Matthews while DA was here and we even won a SG Ball while Hagan was here, SK wins one this year and the academy is working.......

Right, but he was forced out of that field, so it's a moot point.

I think the problem ran deeper than Kearney, but he wasn't going to fix things here so he had to go. His record spoke for itself. A better coach should be able to at least improve us so we're not sitting at the bottom of the table like we've been the past 2 years so that's a start.

It's a start if you accept mediocrity.

Definitely. That's why I prefaced my statement with 'apparently'. Always take anything said in the media with a bucket full of salt.

But there isn't any reason for the media to lie about this, is there? What agenda are they allegedly pushing?

#hestwistingitforallitsworth

Twisting what exactly? Why would I care either way whether the senior players were consulted?

The question is more what agenda are you pushing... this time.

Maybe so you can set up your next fallacy in logic, in yours attempt to put shit on posters here who you disagree with?

Hey Bart, no link but I can tell you that the players were consulted, and some approached board memebrs with their concerns re tactics and coaching

You can choose to believe it or not, but as others have hinted, it took place

For the past two years (out of the past six) we've at least had a coach that was building for the future.

The next coach will take over a solid roster, unless the board re-sign a couple of blokes they shouldn't in order to appease sentimental fans.

At this stage next year's roster is worse than this year's. If our replacement coach does a better job than with a weaker roster it shows how bad Kearney really is.

No it doesn't, you can't compare one year against another, right Pou?

In what sense is it worse than this years? OUT: Hindy Mk 2012; Burt Mk 2012 IN: Lussick, Harrison, some others chaps whose names I forget. No disrespect to the veterans but they aren't a big loss going into 2013.

They should definitely be consulted. They are the ones who work with the coach on a day to day basis and they know better than anyone else how he is performing, as opposed to board members who who just attend a meeting once a month. I doubt Bob Bentley is involved that much balancing his duties with the Leagues Club either. Either way, Poupou's assumption that a couple of the senior player group are just trying to shift the blame is just clutching at straws. Most of us have observed for a long time that Kearney looks like he's lost the locker room, and is tactically unsound. It's great that finally the senior player group have been honest with the club they've lost faith in him.
