AMNRL sponsored? It is quite clearly an independently organised event.

Quite clearly? If the people who ran the event are associated with the AMNRL and it was advertised by the AMNRL then one would think that the AMNRL might have some involvement (cant say with 100 percent certainty). Cool stuff though! I bet any player, USARL or AMNRL would have loved to been a part of this event.

how about some of you pull your heads in. We have a wonderful event with some aussies commemorating their mates being blown up by some demented maniacs on the club's end of season trip with a game of footy and few beers and throw in for good measure the promotion of league in new spot......lets embrace that for what it is !

Where has anybody been critical of the event or its organizers?

So an AMNRL sponsored event invited rival USARL teams to play?

According to the AMNRL site....

AMNRL West:
Col Manners

Apparently it's being organised by Col Manners and not the AMNRL. Maybe that's why it's actually going ahead.

In my opinion that's trolling. Little digs. Asking questions in an inflammatory manner, questions that have already been answered. It's almost like some people like to look for something that isn't there.
In a forum that is like a fuse waiting to be lit in every topic regarding Rugby League in America, I just find it stupid that some people like to try to detract from a successful event for the sake of fanning flames.

I don't care much for either organisation I just care for the Bucks County Sharks and for the game of Rugby league. This was a good event, it was an event with Great meaning and roots of memories of friends. It should not be used as a stick to beat anybody with. Any time anything good is put together it's almost in fashionable for some to just give credit where credit is due.

How is asking who two previously unheard of teams are a trolling post? Who has attempted to detract from the event or its organizers in any way?

This is a stigma that the AMNRL have created for themselves and that will continue to follow them until they start operating as a competent organization. Everything that is associated with them will be rightly treated with a great deal of skepticism even if the individuals involved turn out not to be unprofessional or corrupt, as appears to be the case here. If you don't like that then maybe you should put pressure on the AMNRL to start operating in the correct way.

That's my comment and I stand by it. Until the AMNRL actually do what they say they are going to do then I'll continue to have little or no faith in what they tell us.

The HUGE thanks really needs to go to each of the players who paid their own way to make the tournament happen. Not one cent of sponsorship was raised so it was all up to the players to make the effort. There was five or six different referees throughout the tournament who donated their time also. Next year we are hoping for sponsorship of course so look out 2013 Remembrance Cup! Along with the players there are five men that organised their teams and gained a couple of grey hairs. Vaha in particular went over and above to make this tournament happen on the ground in Vegas.
Vaha Esikia - Las Vegas Warriors
Toby Foster - Coogee Dolphins
Paul O'Keefe - British Columbia Bulldogs
Aaron Thompson - Utah Avalanche
Zane Hirtzel - California Condors
We are hoping for a lot more Usonian and Canadian teams around the country to make a commitment for the 2013 Remembrance Cup, the invitation is open!
Edited for accuracy ― America is a continent, not a country.

Pressure should be put on both leagues to operate in the correct way, especially in unifying. Both leagues are flawed, if they come together, the unified league will still have flaws. That's just what you get when you have an amateur competition that for some reason is expected to be a professional competition.

However, It's a great accomplishment for an amateur league based on the east coast to help organize such a great event in a city like Las Vegas.

My two biggest rugby regrets this past year is not making the trip to Rhode Island to play in their 9's tournament, and also not making the trip to Las Vegas to play in this tournament. Between the AMNRL and USARL there are a couple of great opportunities to travel the US, play footy and meet new people. That is what I love about League in the US.

That's fine. That it's how you feel but it's a dig that's not needed in a thread that has good potential.
I'm getting off the subject as I'm also bringing the thread down with this discussion. Clearly some people chise not to see how it's inflammatory and will obviously not change there opinion or stop dragging threads through the mire.

Congrats to all involved in this event in Vegas.

Why are some quick to jump on Mr. Niu and the AMNRL? This from someone who was in Vegas. Niu was supposed to be in Vegas. In fact he was going to referee all the games and bring some gear to be auctioned off. On the morning of the event he emailed to say he wasn't coming. Yes the event was great, but make no mistake, this event came off because of the work of Col Manners and others in Vegas, notably Vaha Esikia. Mr. Niu's involvement was just more broken promises.
