The world was perfect and we had the perfect competition in the years 2000-01.

Fire, I love your trolling style, but the world was far from perfect then. We all has to EARN all our competition points. No souths - like not getting a tax return.

1997 was good. All the sh*t teams except for one pissed of into their own forgettable comp. The one that was left got humiliated by Newcastle in the grand final!

You'd have to think FleaPit Brookie would be first to fall by the wayside....five , ten seasons max remaining

has been mentioned whether or not the future fund can be used for stadia upgrades? IMO it should fall under preservation of the games heritage and future and receive the appropriate funding.

The suburban grounds should be used as much as possible. They create e very unique and tribal atmosphere!

Locality is very importnat in a city the size of Sydney!Australia's biggest city!
The rail network is very poor compared to Melbourne and this another reason why suburban grounds have an important place for RL in Sydney.

I understand when two major drawing clubs are playing against eachother that a bigger stadium makes sense but this should be for that situation only and not as a rule. If 2 clubs are doing well and demand is massive for an approaching game then a change to a bigger stadium should be looked at.

Given Manly fans famous inability to travel you'd think that the ARL will be working with the local, state and federal governments to get some decent upgrades to Brookie, putting in some of the future fund $$ to grease the wheels.

Actually, the state and federal government have offered to put money in, provided their money is matched by other parties (club, council or whatever). Everyone seems to be standing around waiting for someone else to offer up money first.

It depends on the individual teams, Sharks own their ground as we all know so cost is minimal.....it used to cost WTs a fortune to host a game at LO, security catering big screen extra lighting.....other teams may not suffer those probs.
Rather than it being a lucrative alternative, its a fianncially more sensible option for WTs

I question the NRL's priorities in this regard. The need for the big screen has been driven
by the chronic inability of the refs to make a decision. The perceived necessity for the big
screen is also a bit of a furphy. You NEED the big screen at Telstra because you are
long long way from the game. At a suburban ground you are right on top of the game
and can see the action.

A big screen is a necessity at Homebush, and a luxury at Toyota, Leichardt, Brooky etc.
Security is a necessity for Bulldogs fans and that club should fit the bill for all others.

Went to Millenium stadium on the weekend. If we had that instead of ANZ, people might actually like going to games there.

The worse thing to happen to rugby league in Sydney in the last 15 years was the AFL pitching in $5 million to make Homebush multi-purpose.

Be nice to have some sort of fund to use in the future when we need the odd $5m or $10m or $50m to ensure such projects deliver the best outcome for our game instead. Oh...

Leigh.

Ok but no images of fans standing on hills please.
And the rail network in Sydney is fine. It just doesn't go to the stadiums.

Rail network is fine? Ever been to any major city around the world?

Our rail network is fine most places you can jump on and get to the CBD. The problem is the setup 3 trains to get from Cronulla to Parra is a joke. no trains to Manly. 1 hour trip to Penrith from CBD. 1 hour trip from Campbelltown to CBD.

Trains leave every half hour to get to city from Cronulla. I get the shits when I have to wait like 4 mins in london.
