What an idiot. So because you don't like me you're hoping a cricketer in the baggy green fails just because I'm a fan? That is so stupid on so many levels.

Just the fact that you allow me to influence is your opinion is embarassing.

FYI, no opinion you or anyone else on LU has had has ever made me more or less likely to support someone or something.

Any patriotic Aussie is hopeing Hughes smashes Sri Lanka and India and then leads us to double Ashes series wins and becomes an automatic selection in the team for the next decade.

.

nah, your wrong again bro

Know some guys who got to sit near the WAGS at the last Test.

Spent the first two days hurling abuse at Hastings.

Discovered the very very good sort sitting in front of them was his missus.

She didn't come back for day three.

And i doubt she will ever have to watch him again in a test match.

Someone has obviously been blowing too much smoke up Mitchell Johnson's arse:

If the focus of the five-man panel falls squarely on the first Test against Sri Lanka, beginning in Hobart on Friday, then Johnson is a walk-up start.
Johnson, 31, was clearly the pick of Australia’s revamped pace attack during the Perth Test against South Africa last week
It would be harsh to leave Johnson out after such a strong performance in his first Test for more than a year, when his international career appeared over.
 Seriously, this Malcolm Conn (or whoever the hell he is) is a CON-writer.

Give me Starc anyday over Johnson

- Starc is 22, Johnson is 31. In this case, youth over age.
- Johnson has already had 48 test matches to prove his worth (yes, even more than Andy Bichel and Michael Kasprowicz), has shown lots of glimpses of potential, but very poor discipline and constant inaccurate bowling undoes all the work for the bowler from the other end in regards to sustaining pressure.
- Also, he has a lot of emotional baggage (e.g. mummy issues on the 2009 Ashes tour, which subsequently had a huge effect on team morale. His bowling at Lord's remains one of the most disgraceful pieces of fast bowling I've ever seen) and as harsh as this sounds, you cannot afford to be carrying 'passengers' at this level. I've noticed his confidence took a huge dent ever since his mum came out being a bitch and aired all their dirty laundry to the media. I feel sorry for him that he has a mum like that, but again it's not fair on the other teammates that they have to bear the brunt of his personal issues.
- I see more improvement and potential in Starc, as shown by those 2 wickets he took in the first innings and the Tendulkar dismissal earlier this year. He just needs to eradicate the loose ball that he has the tendancy of bowling at times, hence why his economy rate is a little bit high. Relating to my first point, I see Starc being the best left-arm fast bowler we've had since Bruce Reid and he's got time on his side (i.e. 9 years younger than Johnson). Johnson, at 31...I can't see him improving or getting back to the glimpses of potential he produced during the 2008/09 season
- Starc can bowl the lethal inswinger to the right-hander; Johnson couldn't even do it in tailor-made conditions at the WACA!

Lets forget notch's poor bowling record for a minute. Did anyone see the shot he played to get out in the 2nd innings in Perth? With an outside chance of salvaging a draw this supposed allrounder at number 8 tries to hoik the spinner to rotnest island.

The guy isn't mentally tough enough or cares enough to play test cricket.

I was at the ground when he played that shot

He probably cares about the pay check but other then that he is a mentally weak turd with no heart

He wouldn't get a look in in years gone by and it shows how far Australian Cricket has fallen if he is a certain starter against Sri Lanka

agreed, but i'd argue his shot in the first innings was even worse. Hastings was batting well and just needed someone to hang around with him. Instead the 48 game was bowled slogging like a Tard. No brains or ticker, it sickens me that he is anywhere near the top side.

Saying that, I'd take Hastings over Johnson any day of the week if I had to choose one of the two.

I used to be a Johnson fan, but these days I'd much prefer someone with consitency and heart over someone with 'potential'

I got sick to death of waiting for that one match or one series that he turned it on.

Let's not forget our 2 best quicks are out injured. This isn't our first choice guys. At full strength Johnson is nowhere near the Test team.

Pattinson
Cummins
Siddle
Starc

is a much more promising rotation that should make up the bulk of our attack for the double ashes.

f**k rotation, its a dumb f**king concept. Either you're good enough or you're not.

A rotation policy is rewarding fringe players who don't deserve test selection.

You need at least 3 quicks in test cricket and one of them has to be an economical bowler who ties down one end.

The fact that people consider a guy who has played 4 first class games as one of the 2 best quicks in the country shows how badly cricket in Australia is at the moment.

Pat Cummins shouldn't even be considered for Test cricket at the moment, and he is proving that himself by spending so much time injured but somehow he is still considered in the top couple of quicks in Australia.

He needs to rack up 50 first class games to prove himself good enough first, and the worst part is that isn't even remotely possible because of the Big Bash Wank getting in the way of Sheffeild Sheild cridcket.

It 12 months time the chances are we'll be coming off the back of losing the Ashes in England and Cricket australia will be wondering what the f**k went wrong.

Well you went wrong Cricket Australia. f**ktards.

Why don't we have twice as many Sheffield Shield games and half as many one dayers and even less twenty20 bullshit?

It's evidently clear that young Aussie cricketers coming through the ranks are mostly only keen on the twenty20 bullshit and its having a dire effect on our test side.
