Hey finance worker guru... Tell me... How many margin lenders let their clients debt get to 95-100% of the debt level?

f**king none - that's how many. I don't care how many Bloomberg articles you reference - I doubt the debt level is that high because the lenders would have been shitting themselves at an 80% lending margin, let alone letting it go any higher.

When he borrowed against his stake, they were valued at 1.1 billion dollars so 700 million wouldnt be out of the question if your talking 80%.
Coal prices saw his stake dwindle to just under 600 million. Thats what happened and now the lenders are worried they wont be paid if the shares drop further.

Thats why they fund managers are asking Tinkler for 200 million to be paid soon.... to cover the short position

You don't let your once 60% lend go to 110%. You insist he sells some shares and pay down debt.

It is all media hype and not all that factual. Those scenarios do not happen - and if it has, it is incredibly poor lending.

One of your mates in the financial sector telling you that? Or a "inside source familiar with the situation" that you read online?

Sounds like Shenhua Group may buyout Whitehaven at $4.50 a share, either entirely or just Tinkler's 19.4% which would pocket Tinkler ~$900 million.

Sell up and pay off the debt big guy.

Then retire. Thats what I'd do with 200 mill lying around. Pay for the Knights 10 mill a year off the bank interest.

I was thinking it could become a takeover target at these prices. Bring it on. Brought a small holding at $2.91

Lucky you, I was buying and selling between $5 and $6 made a little bit of money at these levels, however my last purchase was at $5.47 hence why I follow the company so close. Would like to limit my losses as much as possible and gtfo.

We should of had a visible poll at the start of all this to show who thinks the Knights will remain under Tinkler and the ones who don't so we can direct our lol's towards the right people.

Since November Nathan tinklers whc stock has made him $110m. The stock has gone up 20%. You see that's the thing with guys like tinkler, a good month on the stock market can see any financial worries disappear.
