LOL Jennings as being the heart and soul of the Panthers. Please...don't make me laugh.

He isn't exactly the greatest role model in the world. Sorry...but that is the truth.

And he isn't worth what he is on at the moment.

I'm just done with the BS. Just go. Don't care any more.

McKendry & Grant are on $450k+ I don't think any prop in the comp gets that. Coote even more. Grant aside all had their worst year. So while he is over paid he isn't alone & gets all the blame for our cap problems.

And all it takes to be a good prop is the body type and heart...hell Marty Lang only had the heart and puts Sam to shame

Not from me he doesn't. I blame McKendry and Coote's contracts as well.

Within two years I don't think they'll be re-signed tbh.

Grant definitely will be.

Grant and Matt Scott would be a great combo.

If Coote makes a go of 6. Then it's fine you pay that much for a half. It seems everytime the problem is mentioned It's always Jennings on overs. which is true sadly his not alone.

Grant should be captain so I can accept it for him. Puts in every week. Mckendry has turned into a peaheart

The problem is props only play 50mins. While a good props can get you good field position they don't really win you games. Last season our lock, Centre, props and fullback took up about 1/2 our cap. You can't go well with that set up. Grant really lifted. Coote now a 5/8 his pay is more justified. If Coote is good at 6 gives Jennings more ball and his closer to his pay. Leaves only McKendry dragging the chain.

The lesson for all Panthers players is,if you want to remain a Panther get your priorities in check as nobody is bigger than the club.

You train, play, and behave the way that is expected of you, then they'll be no dramas.

Tow the line and work hard and the rewards will come.

See ya Mick J, good luck, at least some drama might stop now.

I agree Tim Grant should be paid what he is getting he will be a NSW prop for quite awhile yet, hopefully Australian prop soon, he is one of our BEST players IMO.

Tim will be one of our best players for a time to come yet.

Sam McKendry does need to improve his form, hopefully with the stocks of props we have now his game will lift and he will be the prop we know he can be.

Our biggest problem is 1/2 back, IC is not afraid to put young guys in there.

I am sure both Roberts and Humble can both play halfback, with the experienced guys in the team they will be protected well.

We need to try something different to last year, both those young guys have a good skill level, can only hope something changes in this position in 2013.

Roosters move to snap up Jennings

SYDNEY ROOSTERS will meet Penrith centre Michael Jennings on Monday in a bid to finalise a deal for the 24-year-old to join the club before the start of the season. While the Herald understands the Roosters won't match the $600,000-a-season price tag Jennings would pick up at Penrith over the next three years, it is believed they are considering offering him a four-year deal worth up to $2 million.
While the Roosters move is all but a done deal, the Herald understands South Sydney have also been interested in the NSW Origin centre and have been talking to his management team since before Christmas.
Penrith general manager Phil Gould said the Panthers would not stand in Jennings's way if he wanted to leave his junior club, but would not fork out huge money to make up for any difference between the two contracts.

''I received an email from Michael's management last week requesting a sizeable payout of his Panther contract to make up the shortfall he would experience if he left Penrith to play for one of these other clubs,'' Gould said.
''Naturally, I informed his manager Panthers would not be contributing anything like that amount for him to play with another club. I told them his new club would have to pay if they wanted his services. Michael is in our salary cap for season 2013 and we are under no pressure to move any player at this time.''
While he didn't name the clubs, Gould admitted he was approached by two Sydney clubs before Christmas, inquiring about Jennings's contract situation.
''I was asked if I would release Michael if they could strike a deal,'' Gould said. ''I told them I would not stand in Michael's way provided Michael was happy with the deal and wanted to leave.
''Please read my lips. We have never shopped Michael to other clubs and we did not instigate these latest approaches.''
While the Roosters are confident of attracting Jennings to Bondi, Gould said he had been told that the Australian international would see out the final three years of his contract at Penrith.
Roosters boss Brian Canavan said he would sit down with recruitment manager Peter O'Sullivan and coach Trent Robinson to weigh up the options.
''We are interested in Michael but we have to see what happens between his management and Penrith,'' Canavan said. ''We haven't spoken about money.''
