you really need to seek help before your lows get too low and you consider self harming

there is always the chance that you may not have anything wrong but its best to know

not if you see a psychologist rather than a psychiatrists. Psychologists can't give drugs

Not sure that I would recommend a psychologist for anyone who is bi-polar
(or manic depressive to use the original term).

The state of mental health care in Australia is pretty pathetic. Go in, pour your heart out to a disinterested GP, and have him arbitrarily prescribe something.

Ask for a recommendation to a therapist? They'll ask you to find your own and they'll scribble out a referral for you.

It's a cut above the US, don't get me wrong, but not exactly easy to get help.
