The state of mental health care in Australia is pretty pathetic. Go in, pour your heart out to a disinterested GP, and have him arbitrarily prescribe something.
Ask for a recommendation to a therapist? They'll ask you to find your own and they'll scribble out a referral for you.
It's a cut above the US, don't get me wrong, but not exactly easy to get help.
