Pritchard? The guy isn't even 19 yet. He has never played open age rugby league and you think he's even close to ready to defend in centrefield at NRL level?
Cam Smith and Danny Buderus - both much bigger blokes - made their debuts at 19 (Smith was actually a few weeks shy of his 19th birthday), and Smith only played two games that year (both at halfback) while Buderus only played one.
Pritchard might make his debut by the end of the year (but I hope for his and our sakes he doesn't) and if he does we should expect him to be a defensive liability, as well as so buggered from defending that he's limited in attack. At least teams will run at Sandow less.
For what it's worth, Isaac Luke made his debut a few days after his 20th birthday. Robbie Farah had only played seven games of first grade by the age of 21.
