Not sure about New Haven, but I have heard Oneida will be moving more into a reserve grade role for the Boston 13's, as some players saw playing for Oneida as being on a loser team and would prefer to play under the Boston name.

A shame if New Haven have gone, they were never the most proactive club in terms of development but always had a strong roster, in fact didn't they knock Jacksonville out of the play-offs in 2011? What happened to that team? Hopefully they can get up and running again in the future like the Sharks did.

Oneida was never going to work, you can't have two clubs run in the same place by the same people and expect them to coexist on an equal level. If Onedia wanted to progress they should have moved to a field in Cambridge and cut all ties with the 13's.

My guess is Oneida and New Haven are moving into the reserve grade New England comp, along with at least 1 RI team.
This will accommodate the restructure with the AMNRL.

Oneida is becoming the feeder squad to Boston and New Haven is regrouping this season to come back next season. Too much strain finding players to replace old veteran leaders and sponsors with losing some of the team leaders to age, injury, etc. New Haven has a strong tradition, they will get their feet back under them. The 9s comp in New England will also help get some young guys interested and feed them in the future.
New schedule to be released very soon, we have been concentrating on the 9s.
No news on the merger, we are progressing as normal for our season.

pennpool you are an absolute gutless wonder.

why do you refuse to announce who you are and your allegiance.

as an interesd external party with no loyalty than i want the game to grow in the usa, your constant anonymous sniping erodes any credibility your opinions may carry.

Umm, am I the only one who thinks one of the main points of being on an internet forum is maintaining anonymity? It is just stupid to discount his point of view because he doesn't state who he is. We are all hiding behind a key board here people! He may be a moron and make ridiculous posts, or he might just be telling the truth and calling people out on their BS, but I think it is better to make idiotic posts, or truthful posts that are insulting, anonymously rather than make posts and have everyone know who you are and impact your relationships in the real world. I for one one would not want my posts on any internet forum impacting my dealing in the real world, because half the time I'm on here tuned up just trying to stir the pot! There are a lot of people on here who take this forum too personally. If Pennpool admitted who he was, he could just as easily be lying, because this is an internet freaking forum.

And he is right in this case, there is no rosy spin you can apply to 2 teams dropping out of the competition. To say 2 teams dropping out will be a "great development" is ridiculous. I was part of a team that had to sit a year out and it was the furthest thing from a "great development".

Both teams have a hard time traveling... like i hear the other teams in the AMNRL do.... This helps them contiune their team until the can attain the height of a USARL full on club... but at this point asking them to leave their neighborhood is a big ask for them and for their commitment levels.... this is what the AMNRL tried to disguise with their uneven schedule that they had in the sense that teams could go 3 -4 seasons witout playing one another.

Plus it's not like these teams are vanishing off the map like the New Jersey Turnpike Titans. From the perspective of a developing team, we have to drive 4 hours EACH WAY for any game we play, and thats our closest opponent. To be able to drop down into a lower league and have less travel can only be a good thing, I would love to have teams that close to me!

Why not try a 9's comp (like what is happening with the RIR/B13's) or something similar to try to get things going closer to home. Living in country NSW I fully understand and have travelled similar distances to play footy but if you modify games to suit the circumstances at least you get people interested in RL.

Craigo, with the numbers we have so far, we are playing Nines. We will play a mini nines tourney for each round, so we cut down on travel and increase games. Hopefully we can get some scrimmages against union teams going, but even so, will need another bunch of guys for local nines.

Mate, when my brother and I were kids we used to play across the road on the neighbours 2 metre wide grass nature strip which was wedged between a metre high brick wall and the road! Trust me, no one EVER got tackled into touch....

Having teams play the majority of there games in a closer geographical local is just plain sensible. Especially in an amature league where people pay there own way. There was no disguise nor was there any long term uneven scheduling. You simply made that up.

If the USARL don't do this then why are teams dangled a carrot of not traveling to the farthest geographical teams upon entry to the league?

There is a pattern here, everything that is said bad about one side is simply used but hidden by the other side.

One other thing, relating to your spin on the teams not participating. How can you have a feeder team when there is no feeder competition for them to partake?

It would be much better if honesty prevailed and you said, simply "the two teams struggled for numbers and are taking a year out to try to regroup".
