i watched some of the fox replay we got pinged for being too slow we were on the player for about 3 and half secs, next set that we had the ball the first 2 tackles souths layed on us for 4and half and 4 secs respectively.
I then decided to turn the tv off.
The evidence is there and no one gives shit because we have a shitty team that will run last anyway.
Souths have a great team it took them about 4 years to get to this stage and they wil give the comp a real shake.
We were never going to beat them today even with the players they had missing.

Difference is our players can't wrestle so when the Sotuhs forwards hit the ground in a tackle they're fighting to get up ready to play the ball after half a second. If you hold down too long in that situation it's noticeable and you're going to get penalized. Our forwards once they hit the ground just get rolled over and dominated.

People here aren't blaming the refs for a loss because we lost by ourselves what we are complaining about is the inconsistency of the refs. We are getting pulled up for everything pretty much yet those 50/50 calls always go in favour of the opposition like the strips etc and when that happens we haven't got the side to defend consecutive penalties warranted or not. The possession is lop sided and we cant claw back simple

our penalties are warranted a lot but the other side does the same thing and get away with it.

tim wanted to talk to ref tonight and got told to go away yet a few pkays earlier ref said to mannah come talk later. He did and gets told to piss off yet other captains are given the time of day to talk about interpretations.

And if ricky is being truthful in ando agreeing with the things pay brings up in meetings in regards to refereeing then it seems like we are on the shit list with ando because nothing has changed

You mean the one he lost cold when Fui reached around and pushed it out ? 50/50 call at best . I'm happy for them to go either way , actually their the ones I'd like to see the video ref have a real quick glimpse at and advise the ref if he gets them wrong .

If they're 50/50 they should give the ball back and just make the guy play it. A penalty is a massive call in our game, and there are too many of them awarded on a line ball decision.

Herein lies the problem.

We've had Finch, Raper / Harrigan, and now Anderson.

Either all of these people are incompetent or the real problem is that all these people have been put in a no-win situation.

Either way, the people above them are to blame.

My belief is that Ricky doesn't understand Daniel's job description because no-one has defined it properly.

In my mind the ref's boss is there solely to train refs to be better at adjudicating the game, but for some reason the role also seems to have the responsibility of interpreting all of the game's laws so that we balance out the gladiatorial nature of the game with the speed of the game, so that we get a true even contest but it is also entertaining for tv. One man can't hope to do all that (especially with tons of public pressure and people questioning the interpretations all the time) and therefore I think the ref's boss should not need to interpret anything at all.

The refs were going ok until they changed the way that they interpreted obstruction. Once the refs themselves or the refs boss start re-interpreting rules mid-season it's all downhill from there.

The wrestle has been in the game for a little while now, really hard to blame da about that.

It will always be a grey area, and like poo says, the refs could blow hundreds of penalties tbh.

The wrestle should be stamped out of the game. If there's no wrestle, then there no decision by the merkins in pink required to be made, limiting their input. But how the f**k do u eliminate it?

Not sure if we are poor at it, practice it at training or too small, but f**k me we get hammered by the refs each way.

Fui was just attempting to tackle the souths player. I wouldn't say it was a strip. There has to be an onus on the attacker to hold the ball.

I didn't see it as a big deal. Refs send captains away all the time if they think they are trying to slow the game down.

The refs did not cost is the game. We are just simply a poor club with a terrible roster.

Poor 5th tackle options and some of the defence out there was below NSW Cup level.

"You need to be a man in regards to accepting the referees decisions. If we are continually losing the penalty counts what does that tell you in regards to our discipline or tactics? I think it does - particularly when a lot of conversations are about about the same types of infringements and issues.

If players knew that they could stop the ref at any time then they would undoubtedly abuse it to slow down the game. Not an ideal situation in my opinion.

How many times do players attempt to talk to refs about penalties that happened 10 minutes prior, and the refs always say, I'm not talking about previous penalties.

And one of the refs, I think it was Henry Perenara did come up to him a few minutes later to ask Mannah what he wanted to talk about. Apparently according to the commentators Mannah said "I can't remember".
