I am normally one to give the benefit of the doubt to new coaches, I normally will give them time to see what they can do. I have also said that after a year to year and a half is a pretty good indication as to whether a coach has got what it takes to succeed, it is quite evident actually. I never bagged the Hagan hire, I supported him initially, I never bagged the Kearney hire, I too supported him initially, hell I even supported Brett Finch when he came here, however I can quickly change on a opinion based on what I see.
The problem with Stuart is that I haven't even given him 12 months, barely 6 months, yet I am getting to a stage where I can see my RJ whinging coming sooner rather then later. I never initially wanted him as our coach, but where willing to support him, however, the very same problems Ricky has had with his previous sides are starting to stick out like dogs balls. Lets observe
- Zero creativity - check
- Unable to produce points - check
- Halfback killer - check
And this leads me to my last point - good with the media - check
Ricky is a master of diverting attention, really is good at it, plays the role of the victim bloody brillantly and everyone falls for it it seems - apart from me.
His whinging in the media after a loss is so f**king pathetic I even feel like saying boo f**king hoo. The old building from scratch excuse yeah yeah another, plan for the future, whilst he never says that he inherited a shit heap etc it is implied with every remark he utters, but the thing is, that excuse doesn't work for me nor it shouldn't and it doesn't in professional sport.
Has he inherited a shit heap? absolutely, what Kearney did to Parramatta is unf**king believable, he made Hagan look like Jack Gibson, he destroyed the soul of the club when believe it or not there was nothing wrong with it, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the culture embedded in Parramatta before he took over - Kearney thought there was a problem, he tried to change it and it backfired terribly, Stuart is trying to change Kearney's culture change - this will backfire too - coaches like Kearney and Stuart will never succeed at Parramatta, it just isn't the Parramatta style of play.
Anyway back to Stuart, regardless of the talent pool and other factors a good coach will always ensure his team is better then what they were before, a good coach will instantyly turn around the team, may not be world beaters but they will be far greater then what they were the previous year. You can look at other sports around the world and see how one coach can turn around a team/franchise - 49ers with Jim Harbough, Jimmy Johnson with the Dallas cowboys, hell just look at Souths in the past two years - a good coach will always make the side better regardless and use that as a stepping stone - this team has actually gone backwards further.
I never believed in stuart as a coach, i never believed any of his excuses, never cared for his whinging and can see right though it - a a master of deception, the players have not improved - his coaching question marks from his previous clubs are blantantly obvious yet again ie halfback killer, lack of points creatvity (not to mention he still using the same type of up in defense he used in 200 and f**king 3.
If i do not see f**king improvement in the side towards the end of the year you will be hearing about it unfortunately from me - like a geniused echo.
