USA Tomahawks Squad vs Canada

It was a great crowd, it's hard to estimate, but I thought there was probably 6 to 7 thousand. The great come from behind win will help keep the fans for the upcoming internationals. A lot of hard work has been done, from the players to the volunteers and especially the Chairman and President. They should be just as proud of the crowd as the players are of the victory.

Congrats to everybody involved in rugby league in Canada!

No they don't. Accommodation is provided for.

We were told by a few players for the Hawaii game that they had to pay for all, maybe some did and some didn't which wouldn't be a surprise, that happened a lot back in my day. Some players had to pay their way others didn't

Congrats to Canada on a huge win for them.

Shorto is better. Apple didnt look slowed by his hand at all vs. Fight. Maybe it was Taco but sure looked like Apple and he is tagged in this picture from the game:https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?...661143477.1073741835.692948476&type=3&theater

Wiggins is a total beast and a lot better than Dawn and much fitter. Just sour grapes because he left Aston to play for the Fight.
Players all fund themselves, travel and hotels.

These are the type of discussions I like. Wiggins is much more active on the field, I think Dawn hits a little harder, but I'd say the Wiggins definitely starts over Dawn, and at pretty much any position in the pack as well. How did they go against eachother when Fight played AX? Is Cooper from Boston eligible?

My starting 13 of the top of my head:

1: Luke Hume (Knights)
2: Jared Frymoyer (Fight)
3: Akarika Dawn (Jax)
4: Kieki Misipeka ( Warriors or HI)
5: Dan Johnson (Sharks)
6: Shorto (Jax)
7: Gareth Bexendale (Knights)
8: Mayo (Bulls)
9: Matt Walsh (Cats)
10: Justin Ripley (Knights)
11: Mike Cartright (Knights)
12: Zach Padgett (Sharks)
13: Kevin Wiggins (Fight)

* I do not know the names of any of the top players from RIR, Boston or DC Slayers. And I have never seen Preistly or Damien play.

Cooper wouldn't be eligible. Need three years residence.

I probably wouldn't have Brent Shorten in there.

You'd have to have Kenny Britt in the squad.

I also like Jamie Uteywall up front.

Well it won't matter much since even if he does pick some of the better USARL players for the 2nd Canada match, most won't be able to make it if they are from the Fight or Jax. Both teams have the inside track for the finals at the moment and should the boys get the call, I would imagine most guys would play for the title match and not the Tomahawks (which sucks for them and the USA). We saw this coming months ago when they decided to schedule the 2nd match vs Canada the same day in the same city as our USARL Championship match right after we released our schedule. Nice easy excuse not to pick USARL guys, very predictable.

I would take Casey Clark in a second over Zach. Much younger, faster and stronger.

Derek Trehan - Out Broken Leg since May if healthy by August should get a look (All our imports over the past 3 years from Australia say he is definitely Q-Cup quality and the best defender they ever seen) Position Hooker/Center/Fullback

John St. John - Center/2nd Row

Phil Hammock - Utility

Shain Singleton - 7/6/9/1

Josh Price (If eligible, IDK how long must have their green card to be considered a resident for International Rep) 7/6/1/13

If Vassy is in Philly this weekend he should stop by and have a look at what he could add to his team especially after the loss to Canada.

Hey Pom,

I'm sure the CRL made money from the event, but it's hard to say how much as many tickets were promotional handouts. I think that most of the profits would come from a percentage of food and beverage sales.

Not going to tout who on the Slayers should be on the Tomahawks. If it is a truly American side then I expect Vassy to pit forth some effort and show up at a Slayers match and see the talent on our squad. He should know most of them. They smashed him in his playing days.

I am sure the USA needs 40 yo players in a World Cup!

Guess you haven't been to a Slayers game either. There are several players well under 40.

Why not be supportive instead of trying to stir up the pot?

From what I heard about the match (first hand from someone who was there), anything would have been better than the weak side Vassy put together.

It'll be interesting to see which way Akarika Dawn jumps if he has to make a choice Ryan. He might be blackmailed with the promise of a WC spot.

They all will be extorted and then he will pick all professionals and screw them all over.
