So we probably have about 800k of cap not playing on the sideline..

Hodges would be around 500k you would imagine gone for 12 months again and Yow Yeah has not played this year and will not play next year looks like it and I doubt he is bellow 300k.

Just really hurts us that money could be used on a good halve back or something.

Hodges should just think of the team and retire so we can use the cap elsewhere.

Hodges has earned the right to do whatever he thinks is best for him IMO

You stupid or something?

I never said they are both not good players I just said having 800k on the sideline next year pretty much all season won't help up.

Just saying that money can be spend elsewhere.

Why does it look like YY wont play next year? We don't know the circumstances.

Even so: Broncos have plenty of money and with the salary cap increasing there is no reason we can't purchase a good replacement (if need be) and still pay the players that are contracted while they recover.

Unfortunately we don't know enough about what they are getting paid and what clauses are in there in case of long term injury, so best to just let the professionals sort it out and talk prospects for who replaces Hodges..

yeah, considering it's the worst injury in the club's history (that I can think of, Pete? Maybe Tallis's neck?) I hope that if he can't play he can at least stay on as a trainer or something.

You'd have to think Glenn is on decent coin as well but I sure don't miss him. A more one dimensional player you will not find. McGuire will no doubt be benched when he comes back cause Tasi, Lui and Slyney have done nothing to demand selection. And more's the pity.

Why would you have a go at the OP?

Hodges is riddled with injuries, namely hamstring injuries that are a week to week threat. Now add a 12 month stint on the sideline and you've got a pretty good reason to call it a day, both for Hodges and the broncos.

No idea about Yow Yeh but you've got alot of professionals in the field warning us off any big expectations with him.

At the end of the day i can see where the OP is coming from, our 2 best backs are doing long stints on the sideline for very unique injuries, it's not like losing Lyon & Matai to niggling injuries for a week or two.
