Because mathematically we won't be able to make the eight

If we win our next two games by an average of more than 53 and a half points, and the Dragons lose their next two games by the same average margin then we will avoid the spoon.

Because he was hired to do a job under a coaching structure of his choosing. Then some goose (apparently) suggests bringing in two former Eels coaches to come in and let him know whether he's got an ok structure. People in other fields of employment do not typically have their strategic choices assessed by individuals who their employer decided were not the coach they wanted.

I'm a long way from be a Ricky apologist.....but this is f**king stupid if true.

Agree.

Why does be think he is beyond a review if we have gone backwards this year? Stuart had a falling out with Phil Gould at the Roosters and initially blamed him for getting the sack, he then was at loggerheads with the Sharks board and left without being on speaking terms with the Sharks boss, Irvine. He was then. forced out of the Australian job after attacking the World Cup referee. Now it appears he has a fractured relationship with our board. Coincidence or is a pattern forming here?

Ricky you are not Wayne Bennett. You are an overrated hack living off a victory that the late and great Graham Murray built. You are a sook. You are difficult to deal with especially when things are not going your way and your back is against the wall. If you are doubting your ability for a moment please leave.

Also agree with this too.

I think the chairman makes a good point about these modern contract that people put things in.

It's not like the club has any control over that.

Wow.

f**k. Me. Dead.

So our solution to the coaching crisis is to beg him to stay and give him whatever he wants?

I guess his performance warrants that.

If the reserve graders peats and norman and blokes who have never played like mossop want to join Stewart's other signings like papalli folau and hock and piss off then Stewart will have had the perfect season.

Are two clubs really fighting over this merkin?

Is our club really that much of a circus?

And this.

In one way I can see why someone appointed to implemented a specific structure/strategy wouldn't be overjoyed to have that scrutinised 12 months later ..... but I can also see that reviews are ok .... but in the world of NRL coaching, every merkin thinks he knows all and doesn't want some other merkins telling him he's just plain wrong

TBH, I wish Ricky would just take the Raiders job .... apart from not having much confidence in him, I think this is building up to be too much baggage that will just get worse if results don't come.

Get JT - let Smithy help him in an overseeing way - don't let Smithy get too involved with the players cos the new ones don't like his ways, but let him help setup structures and play a behind the scenes role if he and JT wants it. I think JT has a very good rugby league brain and hopefully has learnt a bit from his last top coaching experience

Taking Smith back is a step backwards. It's time for the people on here to move on. I see no reason why JT would need a 'coaching director'. I doubt he would want one either. Last time he had one the coaching director ended up taking his job.

if this basket case of an organisation keeps going through coaches like shit through a goose than we will be heading to Perth or folding.

The game is on the verge of expansion and people are looking at certain sydney clubs as a fall guy.

As bad as ricky is, we have to stick with him and hope we improve.

But f**k everything, some of you fans expect the world.

I don't expect to pay $850k and go backwards either. Sticky is a myth and will be exposed in due course.

Our whole club could use an independent review from the NRL. From the administration set up, to the board, to the constitution, to the coaching set up.

They need to find a way to reduce the influence of whinging fans. Because at the moment our administrators are under constant pressure for short term fixes, which is hurting our ability to plan a proper rebuild.

So one board member floats the idea of bringing in Brian Smith for a review of things. So what?

I don't think anyone would have much of a problem with a holistic review of the club's operations (preferably by an external party). That would be a good idea. This proposal (apparently) was an ad hoc review focusing on what goes on below the level of the head coach.....to be conducted by two former coaches. If you want the coach to be held responsible for his team's performance (and I do), you can't go telling him how the coaching structure for which he is directly responsible has to operate. Give him his head and let him be assessed on what he can produce.

100% agree!
Ricky has started the rebuild we have needed for 3-4 years, let him finish the job.

whereas i dont necessarily disagree with you, stfu.

He needs to stay the term of his contract. the only way is up, we have a better looking roster for 2014, give the bloke time ffs.

its funny how impatient some people on here really are.

Which fans? The 100 odd on here? They need to ignore them like most people do with your posts. This has everything to do with one former board sabotaging another. Nothing to do with fans seeing that we have over 17,000 members despite being the reigning spooners.

I was referring to the members actually. How can anyone deserve a say in the running of the club just because they pay fifty bucks a year. It's f**ken bullshit.
