Lowrie has just been released by the Warriors. Good luck, Broncos!
Confirming Lowrie's release

Would be a strange signing by the Bronco's if that is where he is going. They will have to release a few players to fit everyone into their top 25. Maybe the Parker to Panthers rumour is true. Or more likely the Hoffman to Dogs one
Broncos picking up Lowrie makes no sense. They already have an all rep back row plus another on the bench. Not sure on their depth, but they don't appear to be in need of a defensive workhorse.
More Warriors on the outer before this one is over IMO. Not sure what the plan is (if there is one) but so far I'm not overly concerned other than the sudden vanishing depth.

Cam Smith will be signed with the Broncos for 2015 before a ball is kicked in anger in 2014.
The Broncos will be paying him massive overs into his mid 30s.
I wouldn't be so certain that Cam Smith will be playing at good value for money if he is on $1m in 2015 onwards. He will get that money thrown at him for sure, but I think when his time comes it will happen quickly. He hasnt really had a break as a footy player in around a decade. If he retired from rep footy after the world cup it would go a long way to helping him be near his best into his mid 30s.
Im sure he will still be at first grade level into his mid 30's. But taking up that much of the cap would be a risk for a bloke his age.
If we get Cam Smith in 2015, he would still be worth every cent of 1 million dollars for 2 or 3 years. He brings more to a team than Greg Inglis does, even in his 30's. Broncos side in 2014 is definite top 8 side, maybe even pushing top 4. Add Cam Smith in 2015 to the same side it's a title chance straight away. Cam Smith is like Lockyer, still worth every cent till the day he retires.
Hoppa to Souths in the Tele today. Doubt they have the salary cap space though
