The Broncos did it to them so the Bulldogs are doing it back. Fair game.

Thanks for making yourselves look like rank hypocrites. First you poach Stuart from Parramatta then you defend the Bulldogs because apparently eye for an eye is a thing in Rugby League now.

Allow us to take Milford off your hands with no regrets.

Lol if it was one player then fine. It's the amount of players looking to bust their contracts to play for a mediocre team with a mediocre coach that raises eyebrows.

Stuart's situation isn't the same as Milford's either. One was entitled to activate his clause, the other isn't.

Keep clutching them straws.

The whole damn system is wrong. Time for a new breakaway professional rugby league competition.

We have been over this before. Stuart had a clause that allowed him to get out of his Parramatta contract at any time, making him a free agent at all times. Milford has no such clause. Also if Milford is able to activate his get out clause, why hasn't he done so yet?

The Raiders still approached someone under contract which is what the Broncos are being criticized for doing.

On Milford, it's good to know that you know what the clause in his contract says. Do you care to enlighten H's on the exact wording of this clause.

Personally I think the clause in his contract has badly written, in that it is unclear which side it favours due to the current circumstances. if it was clear one way or the other, it would have been resolved months ago

God bless those Raiders fans:

  • Disgusted and indignant at the notion that a club would entice one of their players to break his contract.
  • No problem in the world with their club enticing a coach to break his contract.

He didn't break his contract. He activated a clause that allowed it's termination. If Milford had a leave whenever you want clause it would be comparable but alas for the Broncos that doesn't appear to be the case.

Irrelevant. You were one of the most vocal about "contract tampering" - ie discussing potential new contract details with someone before their current contract has expired.

Your club did this.

At the same time I always maintained the nrl doesn't care and allows it. In an ideal world the bulldogs shouldn't be able to approach Hoffman until the day his contract runs out and he can field offers from every club and choose which one he wants.

But the nrl doesn't care if the bulldogs fax through a contract and say this is yours if you can get out your bronco contract which is shit.

So I assume you can see the double standards in criticising Brisbane for supposedly engaging in this behaviour, while sparing the Bulldogs or even your own club the same criticism?

No I criticised the raiders for trying to tempt Peats into breaking his contract with the eels

The rules are the rules frank. I strongly believe they should be changed so fans can feel comfortable that they are supporting more than just some coloured clothes year to year but most of my problem is with the nrl. I firmly believe the bulldogs should not be able to approach Hoffman and you guys not approach milford, barba, smith, etc until the contracts have run out. As things stand right now a club if they wanted to could sign a player from another club like a week into a new contract and then just encourage them to break contract.

You ruthlessly stole Ben Czislowski from us with a big money contract we just couldn't match, isn't that enough?!
