Perhaps not but given the time frame between my 2 posts, 7 hours, I would have thought more posters in here would have expressed their concern

The inconsistency is clear for all to see, but it's not exactly a surprise and it's hard to really care given he's barely first grade standard anyway.

Absolute grub. And that's what I thought of him before any of this came out. The game is better off without him.

BUT how does Billy Slater get off with no punishment at all when Packer cops a year?

Pfft ask yourself about, your woman protecting fullback and your sign ripping out thug, eye gouging nut grabbing etc etc and you think someone else is a grub? People in glass houses...

You misunderstand me, this is not a formal event, it's a party in the "Small market NRL clubs which the NRL couldnt give a f**k about" club house, get your hats at the door

Poor guy, the Knights aren't in that club. It's only your yearning to have the supporter base the Knights do that make you think we are a small insignificant club like say Canberra.

Wow, so Im the only one who thinks this is massively inconsistent when compared to other cases that are under investigation

I really thought there would be more of an outcry here. Guess I was wrong
no one cares in here because.

1. he is not an aussie
2. he is Kiwi

Yep let suspend him when he wasn't charged. You know, the police did say it was in self defence.

Eats at me a bit considering this isn't the only case, yet seems another standard has been set from one of our bloke's actions (Snowden's "should charge").

Considering Walker has been charged with affray, shouldn't he cop punishment? Unless I've missed it.

lol, yeah we are. The NRL doesn't care much about us beyond maintaining our existence, which is more secure than potentially it ever has been... and they don't mind making an example of our blokes if the opportunity arises.

This Packer thing doesn't surprise me at all. It's unfortunate, because injury free he's an asset to any side in the comp. From our point of view, it will probably accelerate the development of Korbin Sims and possibly see Toka Likiliki firm into the frame (if you can fit him in the frame, bloody huge unit). I'd also like to see more of Cuthbo next year. We're fine in the front row, but Packer was that extra mongrel that we want to bash other teams around with. Our pack was able to contain or better most last year, but we ran into a wall against the Roosters physically, and we would have struggled against the Bunnies, too. Not getting Packer puts us a step backward in being able to stand up to those sorts of forward packs. A bit of extra size and a lot of extra fire in the belly is what we need... and he could have brought that if we could get him fit. A 4 year offer tells me that our doctors would think they can, it would be a bit daft otherwise.

We're easy to make an example of sadly. There'll be no media blowup and there's no risk of other codes gaining ground on us as a result of poor performances.

2 years jail, f**king dopey merkin.

Former New Zealand Warriors prop Russell Packer has been sentenced to two years in jail for assault.
Packer, 24, pleaded guilty to the assault charge which stemmed from a fight in a Sydney street November in Sydney, in which he fractured a man's eye socket.
Last year he signed for the Newcastle Knights for the upcoming NRL rugby league season.
