Tell that to the bottom line in their contract.

Punk main evented shows all around the world, boohoo his program with another unestablished heel didn't end a B PPV.

Audience don't care he main events in Sweden. They care about what they see, and they saw him play second fiddle for months. Even for a 20 minute comedy match.

Who cares how much he was paid? Even ignoring the fact that he wants a legacy, it devalued the title like a motherf**ker. John Cena is the title, Punk wasn't shit. That's what they sold us for half a year.

He wasn't shit, but gee's he certainly could've handled the situation a lot better.

one of the final straws was that he was going to job to Hunter at WM which is stupid because Hunter shouldn't be holding back younger and current roster talent, it just shows how big his ego is. HHH said he was booked to lose unless he resigned with WWE abs if he did he'd win the match

The more I think about this the more I think it's a stunt. I mean remember how everyone was stunned when he pulled that promo in 2011? This here may be the same thing. WWE is giving him time off to relax and rest-up, and later he'll appear via some sort of shock return in which no one saw coming. He's still on the WWE.com website and he's in a relationship with AJ Lee. He's been pulled from the script which could very well be legitimate considering how he's taking time off. I seriously doubt he'll just go up to his boss and say "I'm going home" and expect to progress any further in his career.

On top of all that, the script for the Royal Rumble was played out, it's not like he knew that wasn't going to happen when he went out there.

His career would be fine - he would walk right into TNA, and the lighter workload and more prestige on his signature would be right up his alley.

He won't sign with TNA. They dicked him about early in his career alongside his ROH schedule. He won't go to ROH either. If he says he is done, I believe him that he is done.

That was then, and this is now. After spending years in the world's biggest wrestling promotion, and as a top star, at that, he'd easily write his contract as he sees fit (IF he wanted to go elsewhere).

My point was just that he could pretty much wrestle with any company he wanted to.

Word has if the Green Power Ranger from the original TV series wants to fight Punk in an MMA fight...

I think his name is Jason David Frank. He's 40-odd and he isn't a great fighter.

TNA? That'll mean he'll be taking about an 80% pay cut. If anything he'll join the UFC - he is a trained Martial Artist and he'll earn big money there.

He wouldn't get mega bucks in the UFC, either.

While he's a black belt in jujitsu, he can't strike for shit - he'd be cannon fodder for the serious fighters.

They'd be nuts to offer a guy in his mid-30's with no real striking or grappling prowess mega bucks, because, unlike Lesnar, his size and power won't make him an automatic draw card.

Hell, even Lesnar sucked as an MMA fighter.

He will be back with WWE, if not before mania then within a year or two, they always come back. He knows that there is only 1 real wrestling promotion these days and he will start missing the money and the attention soon enough.

Doesn't say a lot about the so called legit sport of MMA if a sucky fighter can become heavyweight champion.

Yeah - because half the roster was injured or unavailable.

He won his first couple of bouts through sheer power and wrestling, and fluked a win over Frank Mir. He then won ONE title.

Then along comes Cain Velasquez and pummels the shit out of him.

I liked Lesnar, both as a wrestler and MMA fighter. He's powerful and moves with great agility.

However, he had ample time to prepare for his switch to the UFC, and he didn't work on absorbing blows and landing them himself. He figured he'd win just by smashing opponents to the ground and out-wrestling them. And he was wrong.

He's done a bit of BJJ, has no wrestling background and even less striking ability. He wouldn't get a fight in the ufc, let alone big money.

It says a lot about the state of the Heavyweight division in the UFC at the time. The majority of the best fighters in the world at that time were in Dream, Strikeforce or EliteXC. Lesnar had enough size and wrestling experience the beat Carwin, Cotoure and Mir but was exposed against elite fighters like Overeem and Velasquez.
