I think we need to stop signing players that need to fly over the burmuda triangle !
Is that what Doust means when he says we need a "triangle" player ?

Sorry for the delay in responding people as I have been away on business.
Yes a couple of weeks back I was told that the big fella had agreed to terms.
But it seems Manly have pounced at the last moment making an offer which has complicated matters. But the club are still interested and reasonably confident he will play with the red v.

These inside scoops are what makes these forums more interesting, I am always looking to hear news about signings etc. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't.

That, and well he's probably a better chance of playing first grade at Manly.

I don't agree. I believe he has a better chance of playing first grade with the Dragons. Right now we are playing backrowers as props and hoping and praying that reserve grade players are going to step up to the plate sooner or later.

With this bloke and possibly with Fifita in 2015, we will have a top class pack of forwards.................. All of this on the proviso that we have a good head coach.

Those "backrowers" are still better props than Lauaki, and he'd have Stockwell and Hunt ahead of him at the very least. And probably Aioli, Cooper and Groat also. I reckon Rory O'Brien from the Cutters is worth trying .
watatank is right. Manly have lost Kite, Rose, Faaoso, Gower and have only really added Starling and Lui.

With news of Drinkwaters departure this now frees up around $100k could be enough needed to finally secure
Lauakis signature.

In your first entry for this thread you mentioned that he had signed. So is it down to a choice between the Dragons & Sea Eagles ?

True nrlnrl that's what I was led to believe was told he had agreed to terms. But then Manly chimed in at the last moment. Im just reading between the lines here but id say the dragons looked at their roster for a player that could be shopped around and off loaded. We have plenty off depth in the halfs so with drinkys departure we can now bolster our forwards.
This now also opens the way for my little mate JB to slot into the cutters 5/8 position as an understudy for Widdop.

I like the sound of that plan with Bird. OT, but do you know how bad his shoulder injury is ? Is he playing in Under 20 trial this weekend ? On his Twitter account he mentioned "looks like I won't be playing this weekend"
