Been hearing about Sandow to the Broncs a bit over the past week or so... don't know if there's any smoke there?

Kind of makes sense, Qld boy wanting to get closer to family after being told he isn't in the top 19 players selected for our first grade squad. As long as Broncos have some cash to take his salary off our hands, then best of luck Chrissy...

Well they did have enough to sign Milford this year but it would be difficult to imagine any club going near what we have him in the books..

Unless we somehow were able to put some of his future earnings under last season's cap, to use up any underspend?

Ben Roberts half for the storm

Canterbury couldn't iron out his inconsistencies, neither could Parramatta. If anything can, it's Bellamy and the Storm structure. I kind of hope so, because Roberts is one of the very talented players in the NRL - it would be nice to see him shine.

IF Sandow went somewhere else this year, what would that do to our salary cap?

Most likely we would cover most of his salary this year with the benefit to us being the Broncos covering most (all?) of it next year.

But whatever we free up this season we could use for front loading any players we re-sign during the year.

Depends how much of his salary we have to eat.

A remote possibility is that he agrees to a new contract at Brisbane that lasts beyond 2015, and possibly for a lower annual salary (and obviously we would have to agree to a release for 2014 and 2015). That may get us off the hook.

e.g. Sandow agrees to accept $450k per year for 2014, 2015, 2016. We release him subject to him taking up that contract. If he agreed to that I don't see why we wouldn't be off the hook. We might have to pay him $100k for 2014, which would count towards the cap but the overall plan would work......if he and Broncs agreed to it.

If he is on 500k, so that's 1 mill for the next two years. He is part of the cap this year already. You would think Broncos would be prepared to pay him 250K a season, if so let him go for this season and next. Atleast he is off the books next year.

Hang on guys on here where saying that 500k was inflated and Russel made up at time of signing. So Russel was right? Oh My!!

For the millionth time, Sandow's contract is on average $550k per year for four years but the last 2 years are backloaded at $750k per year. The source is impeccable. Wherever he goes will will be paying some money.
