Why did cronulla not use the blue option? If the purpose was to not have dogs balls then the black logo with bright backgrounds like orange (tigers) , yellow (parra away) white (panthers away) should have also be made available. Or is dogs balls OK for some jerseys but not others?

The NRL might not want their logo to stand out like a monkeys ass, but it still needs to be visible...

For a game that hardly can organise a root in a brothel..

Maybe different colour badges and shields etc on each of the 16 jerseys was a bridge too far..

If only there were 16 jerseys!
By my rough guestimation, if each club uses 4 jerseys in a season (which is conservative in this day and age!) we're up to 64 different jerseys.

If only the Telstra Premiership had a logo with a good design, that looks consistently good across all jerseys, with the proper NRL wordmark and that fits with the rest of rugby league’s branding in Australia. But that will never happen.

Again, I don’t dislike the new Telstra Premiership logo and at its best it looks great. I also understand the reasoning behind the change. I just feel that they were trying to fix a problem that didn’t really exist. They should have just flattened the existing logo similar to the look of the Women’s Premiership logo.

Agreed .. makes it worse then

Just go with one logo ffs of all the issues the NRL has , the logo on the jerserys wasn't one of them

It hasn't even been one logo before this year. NZ got their own black and grey version.

So we’ve had an ANZAC Day jersey and an Indigenous jersey but still no home and away jerseys for sale. The merch store on game day said May for those - but still. Hurry up.

Indigenous jersey looks pretty good - similar to last year’s but without the yellow. Surprised we’re still using the same artwork we’ve been using since the very first Indigenous jersey.

.

we mostly had that, NRL spent a motza creating it, lasted about 5 years. This new attempt is a dogs breakfast.

Compared to the current one, the previous logo was a mess. Meant very little when looking at it unless you got right up close.

And at least now the hands aren't reaching towards the crown casino sponsorship.

Thing is, this was the one used on the jerseys

It wasn't horrible, but it has far too much detail for what needs to be an easily recognisable logo. The new one does that, whether its execution has been messed up or not.

The flat version was better. Granted, the trophy is still very detailed but when the league’s trophy looks that good (probably the best in Australian sport) you’d want that to be a focal point.

Graphically I love it too, but I can see that it's too complex to be recognisable on a jersey. That was its problem

The thing I find funny is they said the new one was introduced to be recognisable on social media.

And I bought it, I agreed a simple, iconic shield could be great on digital platforms.

But NRL twitter uses the NRL logo rather than the TP logo!

That new-ish NRL logo should be what is on the jerseys
Then use the TP logo on the field, and for broadcasts and promotion and all the other things they do now. Maybe even keep the TP logo on the shorts.
