When I look back at the things I thought were disasters in my dragons memories , things like Piggins raking the ball back when we had all the momentum in the 71 GF , Langlangs and his needled groin GF , the last 5 minutes of the 85 GF, Jason Stevens breaking his thumb in the first minutes of the 93 GF , the ref letting Ridge run on after Brownie had tackled him in the 96 GF and there is a few well noted ones in the in the 99 GF
These were all ephemeral where Mary has not only been our biggest disaster he has been the one that has lingered the longest and caused the most grief to Dragon supporters .
Sack McGregor as soon as possible.

Trent Robinson says in his press conference tonight that the team will learn from their game tonight and also that he will too. Basically admitting he made mistakes. All good and respected for owning up and being constructive.

Whereas Mary talked about the whole club taking responsibility. What a lot of shiz.

Perhaps the ballboys should get the cane for bad passes?

What about the gear stewards? They need to look really closely at their management of the spare sock inventory.

Groundsman should be water tortured over a muddy patch at win.

This thread has almost won the battle.

Need to ice it, play the full 80.

Mary gets a sniff of a reprieve, he will keep giving away penalties to waste time and stop you from scoring.

The day he resigns or is punted, shall be historic and a statue erected of the fail Mary guy holding his signs with a big don’t argue palm on Johnston’s face.

By 2018 start of season we built and had a good spine working well. And Yes I include dufty as he started the year on fire. McGregor wrecked it with his coaching or non coaching..or inability to change coaching.
Now Widdop wants to walk away and Hunt & Dufty form has slipped under the great one..is all I meant...so now we have to rebuild probabaly from ground zero again
Unfortunately, I agree.
I think we are resigned to having Norman and Hunt as our halves next year.
Hot and cold but mainly luke warm which is worse because you think something good is just around the corner and it never arrives.
McInnes picks himself but FB is where we really are exposed.
We need a professional ball playing FB that is truly dynamic and tough.
I don't think Dufty will be with us next year but he is not the answer IMO.
New Coach could make all the difference but needs to sort out the halves quick smart.
We need creativity and consistency if we are seriously going to mount a finals challenge.

McGregor is no longer the issue. It is everyone that keeps him there

Seems we are now a world wide laughing stock

"As Europe’s most overrated country continues to implode, parallels have been drawn between England’s spectacular implosion on the global stage and the Dragons’ insatiable appetite for mediocrity."

Would love a forum member with contacts to send this article to BJ and the board.

Worry not fellow supporters, Mary has a plan B now. He will convince the Board that the club has reviewed the roster and let go of some the players not capable of making first grade.
He will also tell them that he is excited that new players coming in have shown their CC form could see them playing first grade. These players will be a mixture of untried players and some big names that are no longer chosen for first grade by their team.
The cherry on the top will be is promise that the team will improve on the ladder in 2020.

Yeah, so if we beat the wooden spooners he is good enough to take us to win the premiership next year???

Dragons board logic 101...

Exactly. Does beating the wooden spooners who were probably going to be wooden spooners at about Round 3 means that Mary is somehow ready to lead the club to 11 in a row greatness? Fair f*ckng dinkum if they can't see over years that he is a failure of a coach & failure of a man manager then it's just ridiculous.

The Mole: Phil Gould in secret talks with St George Illawarra Dragons

The Dragons are closing in on a deal to make two-time premiership-winning coach Phil Gould their saviour for 2020 and beyond.

Wide World of Sports can reveal that Gould has been involved in secret talks with Dragons chief executive Brian Johnston and coach Paul McGregor after the Big Red V's season from hell.

The former Blues State of Origin coach is expected to head up the Dragons' end of season review to 'test the waters'.

There has also been a more permanent role discussed, with the possibility that he will take a General Manager of Football role next season, similar to the one he held at Penrith for the best part of a decade.

Gould parted company with the Panthers in April but is still contracted to the club until next month.

McGregor is under massive pressure at the Dragons, with the club winning just seven of 23 games to date and set to finish in second last spot on the ladder.

There has been an outcry from fans, with many demanding change. Bringing Gould in to help the embattled coach would be a shrewd move by the club.

The Dragons have long been criticised for handing 'jobs for the boys' to former players.

So, Gould head coach and McGregor as his assistant coach.

Perhaps not by title, but that's the only way we could possibly see any improvement with McGregor still around...

One excuse Mary will say is that he had no JDB which is 1 less Origin player but he has Norman who became an Origin player so his quota of Origin players from last year to this year is the same. Geez I hope Gould can see through these bull$hit excuses. If anything Mary had an Origin half in the squad at all times whether it be Norman or Hunt but mostly they were both in the squad bar the 1 game due to Origin. How many other teams can boast to have an Origin half in their squad all year? That in itself is proof how bad he is.

Notice that the guys coming to his defence are forwards, Aitken and Lafai of course and no halves? I have yet to see Norman or Hunt back Mary. If anything Hunt is copping the blame for Mary's poor coaching and not Mary.

It would be catastrophic to get Gould on board because it would only give Mary another let out and excuse.

The Mary era needs to be finalised, otherwise the darkness will continue.

Someone in charge has to front up to a press conference, be remorseful and all that bullshit and say that the club is

“Going in a different direction for 2020 and beyond.”

Or get Gus in to deliver the bad news and then sack him.

The only clear choice, the best coach in terms of wins, brutality and firepower is Griffin with his own staff.

There will be no consulting with the board on selections and no compromises under Griffin. Ask Moylan. His career has been a bit of a circus at the sharks.

IMHO Latrell will be on the market soon.
